My .45-70 likes Varget: is it ###?

I can't explain why, but the fact that my new-to-me guide gun prefers a moderate charge of Varget behind a 405 grain cast--far more than the Keith load of 53.0 grains IMR 3031--makes me question its, um, commitment. To chicks.

Can I still shoot bears with a rifle, even if it's... y'know... 'open-minded' about 'alternative lifestyles'?

Maybe it's confused and thinks it's a .223. Try boosting its self esteem with a healthy dose of RL-7.

Mine makes great big balls of fire when I load with Varget. It is great fun late in the evening when I am defending freinds farms from those pesky refridgerators.

Rule Number One. If it works, don't fix it. Chicks love guys who don't care what other's think. Makes them think you're bad. Whatever that means. They keep telling me I'm bad, but won't tell me what that means.
The pouf's won't care what you or your rifle does.

I'm getting clover leaf style accuracy from Varget in my 45-70 as well.
I'm using 350 grainers in my Uberti Hiwall.

Unfortunately, yes...it very likely is quite ### I know where you're coming from, man...my .308 Browning A-Bolt also loves to shoot with Varget. Perhaps we should "get them together" then look the other way, whilst discussion very manly things in a loud voice.
