Just put the Mesa tactical 8 shell holder on my Mossberg 590A1 SPX. I'm really happy with her... shes a simple gun, but tough as nails!!! hope you guys like!! (I also hope that this an ok place to put this thread!:))

Frickin Zombies need to stay away from my white furniture!

Good stuff. I just picked up the 6 shell holder for my 870. I was going to go for the 8 but I found that it got in the way as it seems to extend farther back. Have you had a chance to shoot it yet?

we allso found that the 8 shot got in the way of the grip .
As well when you move to shoot weak side most people will not grip the same and smash their hand into the end og the 8round holder.
6 shot works bets for most.

6 of your shells are upside down :D

btw im curious how much that weighs with a fully loaded mag, shell in the chamber, and 8 shells on the sidesaddle :)
13lbs?

you need a bayonet btw.

dont get the M9s, they will break off in the first zombie skull.

I have one too, it gets pretty heavy..i have the 6 shot side-saddle, and then room for 4 in the stock, I just need a sling with room for 7 shells to be able to carry a whole box :p

That is a bad ass video, never seen it before.
It's 10 LBS loaded, this includes, sling, ghost ring sights, head shield, and surefire fore grip adding to that weight.

With 8 shells in the holder, 8 in the mag and 1 in the pipe, the gun weighs ALOT. It is impractically heavy. My next build will be a lighter, smaller 870. This piece will be here for some kind of childish Armageddon gun;).

...hmmm the upside down shells are a noob giveaway i guess! better to learn here than get luaghed at at the range!!! :D

I only put the shell holder on the other day and haven't been out with it yet, i will be very interested to see if the holder extends back far enough to interfere with the grip. I got it locally and the shop has a great return policy so it should be OK if its a prob. Thanks for the feedback guys!!

EDIT: OH... it came with a bayonet from the factory (luls) but it makes the the thing so muzzle heavy, and kinda tricky to handle around the furniture that i don't mess with much. Ill take a pick of it with the bayonet and update.

nah, its personal preference really but i find theyre way easier to quickly load into the tube if you grab them from under the gun. he also explains why some people have them facing both ways:
