My 8x63mm Swedish Hunting Rig

Nothing special really (M98 action, 3-9 scope) except for being chambered in the Marstar "Reloaders Special" 8x63mm Swedish round. Just pull the 218gr FMJ and replace it with a 200gr Nosler Partition at about 2800 fps. More than I need, but accurate and a novelty. Anyone else kill a deer with this round yet?

It's Berdan, but all brass is reloadable.

I own the reamer and don't lend or rent it.

You should use it in the EOHC milsurp shoot side match, It's uber cool and talk about an exotic chambering.

That is a good reliable combination that shall still be working when most others are junk.

Tweaking a load for mine right now. Just a 98 Mauser with a Richards Microfit thumb hole stock and a standard mil spec barrel(for now). Hope to have it ready to go for this fall Moose hunt

No it's a knock-off of the original K98s built for Swedish machine gun teams in the same caliber as their machine guns. Rumor has it that less then 5 of the originals are on this side of the pond.

Maybe, except that we'd be living in the past if we did.

Marstar had the ammo for sale for 5+ years and there was plenty of fierce tire-kicking, but few went for it. Maybe five guys with 1919's, another 10 with Mauser bolt guns and a bunch of guys who bought 1000 or so rounds to pull down the ammo for components. Now that ship has sailed.

If so Sellier & Bellot makes it.

I have a couple hundred of those FMJ's (218) Has anybody had any luck shooting them with any accuracy. Havent' had time yet.

Calum. I had just asked this very question to Andy just a few months ago. The answer was no! The 8x64 was not the same or interchangeable with the 8x63s. TEX Canada had two or three 8x64 for sale not that long ago, but I think they finally sold.
