My AIA M10 No.4 Review and information, lots of pictures

On the note of accuracy, I'll try and get some pics of my last targets from 100, 200 and 300 yards from the last few weeks. I have since mounted a new model Redfield 3-9X40 scope and and it fits this rifle PERFECTLY. I'll try and get them posted later today.

Okay, so photobucket was being a PITA and not uploading properly for me, but I've since figured out the bulk uploader. So here we go, and as a note all groups are 5 shots.

How nice and low the new Redfield rests

Shooting at 100 Yds (seem to always have pulled a shot on each group)

200 Yds (two groups upper and lower)

and 300 Yds (Not the best since it was my first time shooting this far, but still good enough for me to trust it hunting if need be. There are also 8 shots in there, some lost in the glare or pulled to the right)

My new AIA arrived yesterday and it seems that the stock is a bit slimmer than the one I bought back in 08. That one seemed quite 'fat' - a bit like the Boyds fat M14 stocks - but this one seems slimmer which is good. It dimentionally seems very close to my 1955 Enfield. Maybe a few more passes of the sander eh !.

Pleased to have an AIA back in the herd - I will be taking her out for a spin this weekend.

Ok, so I did it. I went and ordered one. I feel like I've done my fair share of research on this and I think I've made a good decision. However, I am a little worried about some of the negative feed back that I've heard about this rifle. Made in vietnam, no accountability from the manufacturer in case of a problem, no spare parts. But all the articles I've read about problems like these seem to be written in a bitter almost personal way which makes me not trust them. For every bad article I've read, I've found 5 good ones. So anyway, I took the plunge and it should arrive in about 10 days or so. I'm pretty darn excited. I'll post when it arrives. I ordered it from Marstar.

I bought a used one. The barrel was pushed to one side. I opened up the barrel channel, beded the action, and now it shoots some ammo under a minute at 300 yards. This group is about 1.5 inches high.

I shot a number of rifles that day. As is usual practice, I slopped some Hoppes into the abrrels and left rifles over-night, muzzle down on a paper towel. All except the AIA had a blue patch of gunge on the towel. It seems the AIA did not foul at all. I am assuming it is a chrome lined barrel.

I look fowrard to making another batch of ammo, based on what worked the last time, and seeing if the good groups are repeatable.

The barrels looks to be a bit heavier than a #4.

I intend to use it in the next vintage rifle match. Standing shots at moving targets, etc. the 10 shot mag will be handy.

Do you guys have any idea on how to remove the numbers written in marker? I was thinking I like the idea of them having matching serials, but maybe I could get them engraved or something.

If it's permanent marker like mine, rubbing alcohol may take it of. Just use one of those alcohol wipes and blot it on the numbers. Be careful though that it doesn't smear.
