My attempt at "forgotten weapons" Ross M10 with Winchester A5 scope.

Looks good! Those Winchester A5 scopes (or the post-war Lyman version) don't turn up very often.
I've made up a couple of clones on bitsers - an 03A4 w/Weaver 330 and a SMLE with Whitehead offset mount. No A5 on that one. Used a vintage Fecker instead.

Hi Tiriaq. Brits acquired 907 Win. A5 scopes. I'm not sure but it is possible some of these were sent to Can. armourer stations in England for fitting onto the Ross. These Can. Ross sniper rifles pre-date the Ross with Warner and Swazey. Enfield view marks appear on the Win. brackets. Notice the addition of a ring before the front ring to prevent the scope returning too far back after discharge. Snipers had to push the scope forward to adjust for eye relief and focus each shot. Butts were also extended about 1 in. to allow more eye relief. The A5 scope at 5X is just fabulous for trench warfare compared to the Warner and Swazey which was designed for long range. Scopes were offset just as others on the SMLE whereas overhead on the Ross.
Interesting mock Ross sniper made in this thread. Too bad the Win A5 scopes are rather fragile. If anyone has some solid informatin on these Ross sniper rifles I would love to see it. John
