ok...Maybe not "up" but "out", at least.

M&P 15-22 with maybe 300 rounds through it, cleaned after every 80 or so. Fired and fed beautifully when new, increasing # of FTE/FTF, end of range session 2 weeks ago starting to have more and more FTF/FTE than usuall, then....BANG!
"That round sounded different", felt and saw a weird flash (thanks safety glasses!). Check myself, the shooter next to me, then the rifle.

Half a blown out cartridge, extractor half gone and spring and pin sitting loose.

Apparently fired OOB. Sent it off to Murray Charlton (great guy to deal with so far), he sends it off - 4-6 weeks.....:(

How old is it? They had this trouble with the first batch, and then apparently fixed it. I'd send it to North Sylva (S&W distributor). This is a known problem.
 
Had maybe 300 round through it, but it sat for a couple years before I took it out. Can't remember what the serial began with, it was early, but not the earliest. Didn't have the new springs and extractor. Thought I got lucky 'cause the first couple hundred rounds were flawless...jinxed it right there. ;)

I probably had 300 rounds through mine in the first 30 minutes at the range. It's devoured several thousand now. CCI mini mags to bulk Federal through to Rem subsonic, it loves them all.
 
I prob would had more rounds through it if I started shooting it from new, but I didn't get to shoot it until the whole 10 rnd limit happened. I was shooting FM AE and Win super X. The manual called for CCI, but it's pricier. Always shot super-sonic, and the barrell was definately clear. Ah well....It's gone home for Easter....I guess i'll see who pays to ship the thing back....
