my Badass Red Smg (BRS)

after i logoff i realized that TI 3 positions means horizontally or straight back 3 positions so i dont know how that will work with iron sight .

You have one of the older models from the previous shipment that does not have the straight telescoping stock (goes out and down instead of straight back) and only 1 position.

Iron sights are still fully visible with the new style straight telescoping stock.

Have fun with the new toy, you'll enjoy it! :ar15:

Took mine out today for the first time and did gongs at 25 yards. TRS-25 dot was bang on out of the box and I put 100 rds of Geco 9mm through the BRS in short order. Flawless operation. This and my PPS-50 are becoming my favourite "fun" guns.

Tried one handed and was able to strike the 8 inch gong at 25 yards 5 times without much effort.

Back out to the range tomorrow to try it on paper at 50 & 100 with MFS 9mm

Thanks again to TI & Lanz.

thanks for the info.

strange to hear you say i got the older model when on the side of my brs says 2011 . :D

i know what you mean . :)

i took it to the range and fired 100 rounds , all rounds went off without any issue.

i only shot at 25m and i was shooting high and to the right. i shot with the notch sight first , followed by the aperture sight and then the bushnell trs-25. considering my eye sight isnt the best , i was pretty happy with the 3" grouping with the notch , 2" with the aperture and the same with the RD. im pretty sure i can improve with more practice and changing the RD to a aimpoint T1, and better ammo.

the smg is well balance . i didnt feel the weight shifting like i did with open bolts smg prior to the round going off and that was due to the closed bolt/hammer system . the trigger was noticeably stiff for my liking. the stock was angled that puts my eye level to the iron sight, it did not lock solidly in place and judging from the set up i dont think i can do anything about it, the wire against my cheek was ok , not as sharp as the factory VZ folder.

i checked the casing after fire , it had scratches all around the casing with a slight indent at the top, ofcos it was blacken bcos of the blowback. a good cleaning will be needed.

it was surprising easy to dismantle and ofcos doesnt require alot of counter top space.

1. grab the top cover catch that is attached to the main springs on both sides and move it forward , and then with the other hand remove the top cover , then remove the main springs , move the bolt rearward and up, it comes out. please note when replacing the main springs, make sure the buffer end where the pen is pointing is pointing down .

2. press barrel nut lock and unscrew the nut, the barrel will slide out . when replacing you need to push down on the lock again when tightening the nut.

3. to separate the tigger housing to the receiver , punch out first the axis pin and then the sleeve.

4. pivot the trigger housing down.

5. to remove the hammer spring , using a flat head screw driver and place it under the axis pin and lift up.

6. when replacing , put the axis pin in first and then assemble the rest and hook it to the hammer and squeeze the spring assemble till its in the axis pin.

7. to remove the stock, unscrew the tiny screw in front of the stock , unscrew both sides while the stock in the closed position, then pull back (open) the stock till the tiny stopping pins appear , gently punch them out .

8. the grip is held in with one screw and the HG with two .

that is as far as im going to go for cleaning , if anyone knows how to remove the trigger/hammer and the extractor and firing from the bolt (my screws wont budge) , please post .

btw, the cleaning tool is also a front and rear sight tool .

i also did a test of the bore with cold blue and im happy to report to those lazy buggers like myself , its chrome . :dancingbanana:

all in all , im very happy with my first SMG , its a fun gun to shot .

Nice little rig. I'm not sure on how user friendly the controls will turn out to be for us left handed users. I'm sure after a little practice things will work out fine.

your stock is different than mine , could you describe the how your stock works?

Had mine out for the first time today:)
I am realy impressed with it.I mounted a Knock off micro aimpoint on it and it was shooting bang on every time.I have the straight stock one and find it hard to get down on the sights.I prefer using the red dot anyways but would be nice to be able to use the stock sights as back up.

I received mine last week. Have not had a chance to shoot it yet. It also has a straight stock. I concur with pc9, it is not easy nor natural to get a good sight picture with the stock sights. It can be done, but requires some effort to do. This is my first SMG and I really like this little gun. I mounted a Bushnell TRS-25 and loved the setup. It could be the ideal short range gun.

I must be the odd guy out. I haven't fired a round yet, but i have no issues with the factory sites from the straight stock. That being said, my first rifle was an old Squire Bingham 16R (?) with the straight out telescoping stock; took many gophers with that one.

If you lean forward/slouch the body naturally makes up the difference. If your standing straight up it would be difficult to get down onto it.

I was in Poland last week and funny enough I saw a couple of BOR agents(President's Guard) walking around with PM 98's strapped to their thighs. Looked cool :)
