I put a sightron 1-7 on it(very nice scope for the price). Very clear optics. My only complaint, I wish the centre dot was 1/2 moa instead of 1moa. The reticle is nice.

I loaded up some 178gr eld-x with rl15. I have some room to go up in powder as my velocity is exactly 2300fps and no pressure signs. I would like to get to 2450 or 2500 if possible. Hopefully I can find another accurate node in there.

I got the scope on paper and fired the first four shot group. I then made an adjustment and fired my final two rounds right into the bullseye. Groups were shot at 100metres. Should have flipped the coin over to show it’s a nickel.

Going to spend some more time at the reloading bench and hit the range with a reasonable amount of ammo next time. I love it when you get a new rifle and it shows it’s potential right off the hop.

My gun also liked gold metal match but I didn’t have any with me yesterday to try with the new scope but with a red dot it shot a whole box of ammo into 1.75” at 100metres. I’m thinking with the 7 power scope it will be pretty good.

Good to know since I still have few boxes of 175 gr FGMM left! I will try it out with my Sightron stac 3-17 when I receive my BCL 102 in FDE
 
Nice shooting! Got one sub now group out of my BCL. That’s with a Bushnell 4x tac30 with a huge dot. I’ve got a sightron 2-10x coming and will shoot for groups with that. Barrel is stock too

This was my experience shooting an XCR as well. Everyone said it was a 2-3 moa gun, whereas with Hornady steelmatch I was 1 group off out of 5 from achieving the MOA challenge in the black rifle forum, had I been reloading back then I suspect I would've managed it no problem. Guys shoot offhand with poor fundamentals and then claim it's the best the rifle is capable of.
 
I was getting similar results with varget and 165 SMKs in early fall. 168 Accubonds were 5" +.

I took the SMK load out to sight in before deer season in November when it was -20, and i shot 2" high.

Continued the string, and the rest of my group was dead on...

Cold bore was impossible to predict. Once temperature stable, the barrel performed well.
 
Hey Bare, good to meet you and good shooting. It was odd to sit down beside another OD green 102 at the range.

After you left my BCL shot 2 sub-moa groups before opening up to 2 moa as it got warm.

Shooting Federal 168GMM, they can shoot.

Disclaimer- Hertenberg is 3-4 moa in my rifle.
 
Nice meeting you as well. After seeing your slr handguard I’ve been wanted to order one. Good to hear yours liked the 168 gmm as well.
Great shooting from you as well. I think you were only using a 3power scope when you shot those sub moa groups.
