Well my 102 arrived today. Kinda bittersweet. Thanks sfrc for getting these to us and for the AR armorers wrench thrown in.
So knew i would have to bubba my raptor charging handle to fit (the factory one is a cheese grater)
Initially i was worried since mags were tight as a tiger and were tight ass a nun. I have m3 5/20's and it came with a m3 5/10
had to take the dremmel to the magpul trigger guard to get it to fit "properly " and now mags drop free yay!
Dust cover is too small but stays closed unless i play with it for what it's worth and i got the new old style hand guard with the unusable sling qd point- not impressed.
Magpul miad doesn't fit with either back straps. I'll try the other one i have otherwise out comes the dremmel again
The factory trigger though wasn't as bad as i expected was replaced with a SSA-E
factory bcg is rather rough, plus the firing pin retainer was bent up and had to replace it with a spare one. My brownells one arrived yesterday and it was a big improvement plus the pof roller cam smoothes the action out.
Installing the gen 3 prs stock was a minor headache. Had too use the sanding drum to ever so slightly open up were the stick meets the castle nut. The threads seem to be taller. Then i had to trim approx 1/8" of the eggs of the buffer tube with a hacksaw. Then the front edge of the portion of the tube that sets the adjustment used the sanding wheel to remove the tiny bit of material blocking the tention/qd port of the stock then it fit like a glove.
Tried to replace the mag release with a spare diemaco one but i can't seem to get mine to extend far enough to remove it like on a ar15 so I'm stumped there.
Added a mdt mlok rail segment to mount the atlas.
On looks alone the factory muzzle device has to go. Might just go with a good ol A2 style device.
Lastly i mounted the fde aero precision ultralight mount and my cabelas 4-16 ffp covenant scope.
Got a bunch of hornady 147gr fmj and a bunch of Sierra 165gr hpbt hunting rounds. Brass has been sized and ready to be loaded. Cant wait to take this into the wild
