Well Sat proved to be a good day for me. I have spent alot of time scouting a new area and hunting this new area only to see does every time. Well at first light finally a buck. Now all you big mulie hunters might laugh but to me this is a big deer. Gutted and hanging he weighed just over 210lbs. Not stinky yet either, but was with 5 does.

That's a fine animal. Good job.

Remember this about big deer:

1. If you take one B&C buck in your life, you're lucky. 8)
2. If you take two, you're a great hunter. :mrgreen:
3. If you take three or more, you're a poacher. :wink: :lol:
 
Nice deer, makes the whitetail look boring. Huntinstuff, I think if you get one deer you are lucky, just to have the chance to hunt is good enough for me if I get something or not.

Death-junky- Blacktails do get very stinky in the rut, as well as all swelled up especially in the neck. More than moose or caribou. Not really sure. Have'nt hunted caribou and my moose hunting has been limited. But I have hunted blacktails and smelled them before seeing them.

Huntinstuff- thats funny :lol: but I am still lookin for that B&C rack, I wish

we shot a boo 1 year that would have knocked a buzzard of a ####house meat wagon :lol: ........even the dog wouldnt go near it , that sucker was WRONG :lol:

Looks similar, but I'm on the Island, so unless he was a really good swimmer my buck is still alive. And will be until he:
a. dies of old age
b. gets hit by a car
c. the local cougar gets him

I shot a nice Blacktail up by Harrison Lake a few years ago. Middle of the rut. He was pretty much inedible. :(
 
well less than a week and I will invade the lower mainland for them sitka/blacktails....I can only HOPE I can find a couple bucks a 1/4 the size of DW's and I would be like a 4 year old getting a nintendo for xmas :lol:
 
I wish you guys all the luck in the world. It's always right time right place eh? I would love to see some pics of your trophy blacktails.
