Unless you've already got walls full of mounts as good or bigger, definately mount it. Very nice whitetail - good height and perfect symmetry. Let's hope he spread around some of those good genes before you popped him, eh?

Im convinced, im going to inquire about a full head mount.
I may not see another one like this for quite a while.
Not sure on the score and measurements yet, I had to leave it hanging in my buddies garage and come back to town for a few days. I'll be going back up this weekend however.
Has anyone got any skinning tips. I assume I would skin right up to the base of the skull and then just leave the head as is and let the taxidermist take care of it.

There's a great taxidermist in the Ottawa area. Richard Poulin. He is the Records Chairman for the Foundation for the Recognition of Ontario Wildlife.

If you are able to track down a taxidermist you like, ask him about caping it out and what he prefers to work with.
The taxidermist I was referring to in the townships was "Taxidermie de l'Estrie". I've been looking for his calendar that I have somewhere in my hunting stuff... His contact info is on it. I'll keep looking for it but you might find it on the web too. He's located in Fleurimont, really easy to find and roughly 2 hours from montreal.
He has a lot of racks on display and they look great, I allmost mounted mine last year but money was a bit tight for a head mount. I believe his price was 350$ for a full head mount.
