After several years of waiting to gather all the parts for my non-restricted dream build....

Many thanks to Fabsports, Brownell's, Lebaron, Tacshot, Dlask and Armco for getting me all the parts. I've shot the almost done rifle last fall and it was under 2" at 100m all day long.

several years ??

Several years?? What took so long? I have almost the same setup, and it only took 1 week literally to get eveything.
Bravo
P.S. Maybe I'm missing something here

Maybe it was just a project on the side when he had nothing else going on... I've had lots of little odds and ends going for just as long.

I love it. That looks like it would be a lot of fun to shoot reactive targets with. I'm thinking of putting something like that together myself. Can you tell us more about the components you used, and what you liked about them?

Thanks for the compiments. I was thinking of steel plates and rattleing off bursts into coyote's while I was gathering the parts. My Mauser come first hence the delay. I built it as I could afford it. As for parts, the stock is a Tapco T6 with a Tapco VG and sling. The barrel is a ER Shaw 11.5" with a Dlask Vortex clone. The sight is a plain jane Bushnell Holosight on a UTG scope rail. The Trigger group was upgraded with a VQ hammer and bolt release. The light is a Surefire Scout light and the mag a standard BC Hotlips. I shot it at clays in the fall and it was a real hoot. I wanted to take advantage of the short barrel and figured I might as well build a gun that handles fast. I'm particularly fond of the Holosight. I see why guys like them overseas when there are 'troublemakers' running around.

Did you have to have it verified or anything when you put on the 11.5" barrel? Do you need to call the CFC and update the registration of anything?

I think I paid around $60 for the Vortex. Dlask has pics on their web page. I was inder the impression that because the status didn't change that I wouldn't have to report anything to the CFC.

this is off of every firearms registration certificate.

"Firearms owners must report to the Registrar of Firearms, within 30 days:

-any modification to the firearm that affects its classification (non-restricted, restricted, prohibited);
-any modification that results in the firearm ceasing to be a firearm;
-any modification to the type, action, calibre or gauge of the firearm; and
-any modification to an altered automatic firearm."

barrel length does fit in on certain conditions but not on this one.
