Nice gun! The 7.62x25 is a screamer! Don't worry too much about the trigger either-my experince has been that it takes norcs about 1000 rounds to break in and become a very acceptable trigger. Go with the extra barrel package, though-to buy the 9mm barrel as a standalone item is 110 bucks at marstar!

Also, in spite of what is commonly heard, the TT33 was not "borrowed" from the 1911 design, apparently it just happened to turn out that way:D.
 
Fist sized at 10(or so) yards is what I get with mine in 7.62, at 25 yards I can put most of them in the black. I liked it so much i bought another with the 9mm barrel & the one with the less recoil goes to my wife.
 
I had both the 7.62 and 9mm barrel but with 9mm it would stovepipe at least twice every 7 rounds :( - sold it in the exchange forum here, hopefully the buyer has better luck than i did.

tokarev grips are kinda short, but the mags from lever arms have a different shaped baseplate which fixes that nicely. grip angle is kinda funky too. a pretty slim pistol with smallish sights.

regardless I still love mine :)
 
fist sized groups at 10 meters is acceptable for a combat pistol.

sounds like a good thing i have the version with no safety at all. i am the safety instead a lever or switch.
 
a lot of the feeding problems depend on the ammo- i've got some 130 grain crayola swcs that feed ok, but the 124 gr round noses will stick in the barrel occasionally, locking the slide about halfway back- then you have to take the gun apart- factory winny white box 115s feed flawlessly- dead cheap besides- it's getting to the point where i'm saying why am i bothering reloading 9
 
The little safety added to some pistols is an afterthought, necessary for importation into the US - before the import restrictions on Chinese small arms came into effect. Doesn't contribute much to the design.
 
I am loading the 9mm 124 grain BDX supplied Montana Gold 124 FMJ bullet under a good dose of 700x. During load testing I did have stove Piping, but that was due to the load being to light. The stouter loads tested seemed to fire better, both from a function and accuracy stand point.

Will not conclusive, IT IS MY OPINION, that the T54-1 type handgun, with its current factory spring set seems to have a preference for heavier/ hotter loads. That being said, all loads used were within loading manual spec’s, just on the higher end fo the scale.

It would be interesting to see if adjustable sights could be installed, however due to its thin profile, I believe that adjustable sights may be a custom item.

Any body know if such an option is offered??

Further, I wonder how the TT-33 and the corresponding Type 54 pistols stack up against the CZ-52 pistols, which to my knowledge is the only other handgun chambered for the 7.62x25.

I know that this is not the exchange forum, but would anyone here be willing to sell me a small sample of 7.62x25 so that I could test it against the 9mm performance. Im located in Calgary.

Which is fine for shooting from the bench. Makes it difficult for any defensive style shooting which requires holster work though. Unless of course you want to thumb the hammer up and down when you draw and holster.

i have glocks for that kind of shooting. i suppose i could rack the slide after my draw and fire till slidelock every time if i decide to use it in that capacity.

ok good. more video later when the tok ammo arrives. in the meantime i did a few minor upgrades to this thing to make it a little more combat ready.

firstly the sights, modified so that they contrast a little, simply dot the I and press the trigger.

for the front i painted it flat white, then after it dried i painted it with flourescent orange ( two coats). the rear sight i simply painted a vertical stripe in line with the notch. seems to be much faster now. won't know for sure till the ammo arrives though.

I think the sights mod is great, and I REALLY like what you did to the grips. ..I mean, why the hell not do this kind of fun stuff to our guns? :)

my thoughts exactly. it's not a $1000.00 gun, and there is NO aftermarket stuff available for it. so out come's the brush :)
