Hey all!!

While I am not completely done, I thought I was close enough to share the progress on my latest build.

The following are pictures using the S&J Hardware AR15-870 CQB MkII Stock Adaptor System. The heart of this project is a 1960's vintage Rem 870 Wingmaster with some of the best machining metal, and smoothness of action I have ever seen. This is a hold over from my first build, (I refused to let it go) however, this time round I have swapped out the original trigger group, for one from an 870 police that has the Flexi-tab carrier, added a Mesa tactical 6 shot side saddle (best in the biz) and a VangComp Hi-vis, anti bind follower.

My philosophy for this build regarding sights was different. In my previous build I wanted to principally use optics and have BUIS just in case. This build I wanted to use Irons principle and opted for more ridged none folding sights. To that end I Yankee Hill Forearm Mounted Front Fixed Sight(YHM-9830A), and a DPMS Detachable Rear Sight Model FT-RS (A2 style).

For furniture I added a Vltor Carbine clubfoot stock (with black recoil pad) mounted on milspec buffer tube with lock nut and Ambi CAR Sling Adapter. The grip is a Falcon Ambi Ergo Sure-Grip, and it feels really good.

For experimentation purposes, I have two barrel sets for this one. The first is a Norinco-14" barrel with a TacOrd +1 mag ext. The Second is an 18.5" barrel with a factory Rem +2 extension with clamp.

For the forends, I am planing to experiment with a Dlask Tri-Railed forend , and a Houge short over molded one. I am just waiting for them to arrive. (Right now it just wearing a Speedfeed short forent)

The railed forend will look like this

For a sling, I was so impressed with WoodChopper 1's rig, that I am going to do something similar.

Well that’s it for now. Look forward to your ideas and comments

Regards and all the best

AbH

WOW, I like that.

That 14 is very sweet with that rail and clubfoot, yet mean looking.

I think birds are gonna fall from the sky voluntarily without expending any shells on them. :D

Happy to view these. Nice candy Richard.

Easy:

Thank you for the kind words.

You know this is the first time I have worked with the Vltor Clubfoot, and I must say I am sold. Solid cheek weld, comes up fast and comfortable, and the sight arrangment was exactly what I had hoped for.

While I have not shot it, I have mounted both barrels, and the system is definately designed for the 14" as thats where is seems to point, and feed shells the best. Howver further field testing is required.

I am actually waiting on a black Club foot and egro ambi grip and my forends as I am saving this foliage green furnature for my frist AR build (stay tuned for the LOL) but I just got tired of waiting for all my parts to arrive.

I am working on a Sling arrangment like Chopper1 and have a sling plate coming but have not quite worked out the rear attachment arrangement.

Need to send that Norc Barrel to TacOrd to have a barrel ring ball detent installed, and would dearly love to get a Vang Comp barrel done. but for now, its one step at the time.

While I really like the Mesa side saddle, Its the best I have worked with thus far, Im not sure I like what it does to its ballance, and being a left handed shooter, reaching the shells closer to the rear of the saddle may be some what challanging, again however field testing is required.

Please keep all the comments coming.

regards and all the best

Maybe try an Arms40L BUIS and some form of folding sight up front. You may want the sights out of the way for whatever reason and it will look sleeker.

That particular fore-end is esthetically pleasing combined with the rail and clubfoot design. Nice combination.
Thought I do like the color break-up, an all black gun is King.

I agree, lose the saddle, but not because you're a southpaw. Though not a lefty, I've managed quite well with practice.

... and a Vickers Tactical sling is really all you need for most apps. ... I'd think you'd want one to carry that weight.

Keep on truckin' :D

Yes that's the one. I knew one of our dealers stocked it. Just forgot who.

... and here's Vicker's website:

....and a good load of various attachments:

loving the pics guys.
talking of slings, the vickers is the best 2 point i have ever used.
they allso make a more cost efective model thats not IR treated.
we have both in stock in black.

Right now i have a Hammers red dot.Its cheap but it works.Takes all sorts of abuse and still holds zero.I did however just buy a Aimpoint Micro T-1 that i might switch to.:)

AbH, that looks great - glad you decided on the 14" barrel. PC9, that too is awesome. I was tempted to do the same to my Marine Magnum, but instead opted to do a whole new build. I went with a Grizzly clone, but ditched the 12" barrel in favour of a 14" with a breacher. Like AbH, I went with the Mesa Tactical shell holder and the Ergo pistol grip. I also have a S&J high viz follower, and of course, the S&J adapter and rail. Since this pic was taken, I have since swapped the cheap Red dot (hey, I needed something to aim with!) for a set of BUIS from, who else, S&J. Can't say enough good about the S&J products.

All these shotgun photos and no slings?!?!?

Everyone right now send a PM to BadBoyB and order a Vickers or Victory sling. Or give him a call and say "Simon, I need a sling" :D
