My brother is looking for good bang for buck, let me know what you think!?

id agree with getting the M&P II in 9mm and the M&P 15 Sport 2.

the M&P is a better ambi pistol than the glock.
unless you go with a Gen5 G17, but they are not readily available up here yet.

22 the ruger is nice, or the Buckmark.
i have both and i prefer the Buckmark.

Browning Buck Mark Camper for the .22 ...Cheap,reliable,accurate....what more do you want? When it comes to the 9 I'd agree with the Shadow I suggestions. Now that they can be had new for under $800 they are one heck of a deal.

lol beat you

lol see posts 2,3,4, and 8 for the S&W AR reco

as for Canik, i had never heard of them either until one was used in an assassination on live TV...after that i did some research and found they have a good reputation..saw one at Bulls Eye

I agree the M&P9 is a great pistol but speaking of mine you could stand on the right side slide release and it would stay still so not so much for ambi

edit: Mine is a 2.0 if that change something

So you want a 22 pistol first . Ruger Mark 2. and a larger caliber pistol . if he's short of funds then that would mean a 9mm . Glock 17 CZ 75 . both on the used market .

So?? Whatcha get?? I’m betting that P-10 C for 530 if you spent a little tome looking.

It's taking him some time, trying to get him into a club that is already full, so we have a meeting tomorrow with the club, to see if they can fit one more in.
I am pretty sure we are each gonna get Canik pistols for sure, I wanna try one as cheap gun to play with too, feels pretty good in my left hand at the counter.
He's also looking at some revolvers, since trying my GP100, he likes the accuracy of it.
Don't see the P-10C anywhere for $530

So I got my brother convinced (finally) to buy a couple pistols and a Black rifle.. but he is living off one income family kinda deal. But I am not the best for recommending cheap but good guns, as I usually buy semi-customs or better. Obviously he's gotta go try a few, but I am wondering which we can try as obvious ones we should be looking at as contenders.

wants a good quality .22 pistol, I suggested to him a Mark IV Ruger, they are reasonably priced, easy to take down and use, been around forever, so I think that one is figured out.

As far as other pistol, He is looking for:
- #1 high reliability
- cheap ammo (so it's gonna be 9mm for sure)
- fairly ambi friendly
- under around $1000 give or take(cheaper the better, without sacrificing quality)

I'm thinking a Glock 17 or some sort, even though I dislike them, others? Don't know how good the HK's, walthers and other ambi guns are?

As far as a black gun, it's tough, he doesn't want the mess of cleaning all the time with surpluss ammo, so no vz.58 and the likes. So it looks like it will be .556, he would spend a bit more here maybe around $1500, having it NR sounds nice too, but not a must.
Not really keen on the unproven guns that have fan clubs, like the WK-180

He would also consider used guns, but really can't afford to get ripped off, he's also one of those really honest guys that seems to get the short end of the stick most of the time when buying used, so he's a bit hesitant.

Any logical suggestions would be great!
I have a ruger mkII .22lr target sights for $390 plus shipping. It is on the ee but buried so deep even I cant find it. I will go into ee and see if I can bump it to the top

Perhaps go with Beretta for all three.
Model 70 in .22
Model 92FS or 92A1
CX-4 carbine. One bit of advise I've heard on this one is not to let your girlfriend shoot it, she won't give it back.
