:DJust took home a Browning BL-22 Grade II. :D:D:D All I can say is WOW!!
I never really fancy'ed them before as to own one, But today I went poking around the gun store and for the first time in several years going to this store, I saw one. I was curious to actually see one in the"flesh" so to speak. So..I held it, admired it, drooled over it and asked the guy how many they had in. ONE. They had only orderd one of these. (I know it's not a lie to get me to buy it because this guy is my good buddy and my gun salesman for the past 5/6 years) They even showed me the inventory on the computer.. So...I hymed and hawed...and bought it:D..I am absolutely in Love with this little rifle. Shoulders great, feels a little small in my hands, buy still feels right!!! This is definately a .22 that I will someday pass down to my kids/grandkids. So classic!!!I'm selling my 597 VTR because it was more of an impulse buy, and I really wanted to find a "Real" .22. I thunk I found the one.:D Anybody with pics of theres..

Will be posting pics tomorrow first chance I get!!!

The Winchester 9422 XTR is a timeless rifle as well. You can feel the quality when you pick it up and cycle it. The action is as smooth as butter. I still have the one I purchased from George Woods gun store in London Ontario in 1979 or 80. Back when coon pelts would bring 75 or 80 dollars.

I also bought myself a BL-22 Grade II for christmas. Great minds think alike? I've yet to receive mine so I think you should post pics :)

I bought my BL22 maybe four years ago. I take it everywhere there's a slightest chance to shoot it. It comes to range with the big boys all the time. Put a nice scope on it, and it's hard not to go through at least a couple hundred rounds every outing. Up at the cottage everyone likes to shoot it, even my kids. However my 7 year old loves my Marlin popoose.
The only thing with the BL22, is that I find the trigger pull a bit stiff. I'm taking it to a gunsmith in the new year to have lightened.
I think this is one great rifle. I really like the short cycle of the lever.
Enjoy your new toy

Good on you :) - have fun with your very cool "gift"! :D

couple Pics!!

Heres five quick shots of my new favorite toy:D Had it out today for a quick trial, only shot one tube of LR..Works as expected, excellent.Gonna focus on accuracy when I can find a calm day. I guess because it is a little bit light, I could actually "feel" the recoil of the shots. quite interesting.

Nice rifle! Love my BL-22, got it a couple months ago as well, pics floating around on the forum here somewhere. They are beautifully finished and so light, I can't wait to go out rabbit hunting with it. Fun to shoot .22 CB's with, quieter than a pellet gun.

I have a grade I that I bought from a friend that didn't want it anymore. I put a Leupold 2-7 on top and went to the range, great shooting rifle, and my Marlin 39 went on sale the next day. Everyone that shoots this little rifle loves it, might have to get another. FS

I love my little BL as well....as someone else mentioned though, I do find the trigger pull fairly heavy, but not sure if I want to mess around with adjusting it. Anybody done this, and what is involved? Either way, it is a classic little shooter. The only .22 I have that I like even better is my Remington Fieldmaster 572 pump....which was my christmas present to myself this year! I had one 19 yrs ago, sold it to help pay for my wedding, and finally got one back in the safe.......

Over 28 years ago I purchsed a Grade 1 BL22 it is the rifle that I used to learn how to shoot fast and accurately then about 2 years ago I saw that Browning had come out with a black/gray laminate stainless steel model (I've got this thing for this combo), I couldn't help myself I had to have it.

After I bought the new one I had a buddy beg me for my original BL 22 so I foolishly sold it instead of giving it too my son.

These are as far as I am concerned the very best 22 rifles on the market...
