The best perhaps, but most certainly the most under rated. For those who know or even care I traded another nut my CZ 452 for this because it was so accurate, it became boring. (though I admit I miss it and am going to add another to my safe) The problem with the Browning is it is just as accurate, and it only wears open sights! But if there was ever any doubt, I have no regrets in getting this rifle and I love it to death. It's pretty to look at, a pleasure to carry and absolute fun to use. Congrats again GS.
 
The BL22 is a nice little rifle. I received one for my birthday 31 years ago from my dad....I have shot many rounds and enjoyed its company. Has anyone successfully had the trigger softened? That is my only gripe. I now also have a Savage mako in 22, a CZ 22 and now an Anschutz in 22 and they all make my BL trigger pull feel pretty stiff in comparison. A over the counter 'smith in Calgary told me that there are no solutions to touching up or replacing the trigger....
 
The only way I know how to make the trigger better s to shoot it so as Pharaoh stated you probably haven't shot it enough...

My old one had an awesome trigger my new one has a lot heavier trigger it hasn't been shot much yet.

A couple of pics, taken by the gentleman I bought it from....the stock on this one is drop dead pretty, and I haven't seen another with the same checkering on it.....but my BL-22 is still a very close second!

Jeeps! That story brought a tear to my eye. A buddy that good will understand when you ask for it back for your little lad.

EDIT: BTW. I think you have a thing for black/gray laminate stainless steel. LOL!

:DBeen thinking that... already asked the G/F. She hasn't bought me a firearm yet in the almost 7 years that we have been together. This b-day and that rifle may be the time!!! You buy me gun.. I buy you engagement ring ...:agree: Until then....lol

lone-wolf....I am currently gonna leave em stock. I actually like the factory sights, fold down rear, etc..does kinda flow nice with the rifle..in my opinion. :) Only time will tell...have any ideas??
 
I always wanted a tang mount peep(marbles) for my winnie 9422m. Or, since the receiver is grooved, a necg peep sight would be OK, and not requiring d&t.

Hmmm....not to put too fine a point on it, but if you buy yourself the rifle, skip the engagement ring entirely, you'll probably have enough left in your budget after twenty years to buy an entire arsenal.....:D 'Course that means skipping the whole getting married part too.....!
 
Canuck..you are a very wise man...:D..But she's a good woman, Don't have any complaints about her:eek: but then again, we're not married yet..:D. Besides...I'm sure I'll still manage to buy a "few" guns from time to time..
 
Congrats on the 'present'!

I had a BL22 II years ago but rarely used it, sold it but definately missing it now. I have a SA22 Grade I that sort of fills the gap but can't replce the BLR, I might get another one :)

I hear ya...I married a good woman too, and its taken me 18 yrs to get to the place where I can start throwing the odd 'toy' into the safe! 'course, raising 5 kids (three teenage daughters, and a son who plays competitive hockey) kinda cuts into the budget....
 
Well, sure sounds like you've had your hands full for the past little while. Congrats on the good woman, and sounds like great kids..I'm not kid ready yet..Still too young for em for another couple years.:agree:
