hey, i finally got my ATT in the mail today (it took forever), and lo and behold it svalid from january to november 2007. what im eondering is why they did get me the longest possible one. they said they would! and, what am i supposed to do once november rolls around. can i renew the ATT on the phone myself, or does tha cul have to sent away for it again so i can wait forever again?? does anyone know what is more likely to happen? thank guys!

I needed one called gave em my fax number and it was here within 15 min but it took 45 min to get through on the phone
then i needed one for bc another 45 min wait then within 15 min here it came on the fax machine
got the original in the mail way later but the faxed one works

yeah, here, my club had to be to get the att for me. the membership is due in september but the att is valid till november which makes no sense. so tell me if i got this right: i can just renew my club membership, then call up the cfc and get a renewed ATT faxed to me. i dont care how long i wait on the phone, anything beats waiting 6 weeks in the mail.

Check with your club, maybe they issue new ones in september + six weeks in the mail... Voila it is November!.

Att's in Ontario (at the clubs discretion) can be valid for up to 5 years...but they will expire the same time as you Firearms License...

Some clubs go five years...some do it annually to coincide with your membership

When does your PAL expire? I got a similarly short ATT because they are trying to coordinate the expiration of the PAL and ATT.

In Ontario, the long term ATT is linked to your club memebership.
You can't do an 'end run' and apply for it yourself.
I have had the same thing happen...(I also belong to GRGC)... and mine is also due to expire in November.
Good news though...I believe there has been a 'changing of the guard' at the club...and this may mean better communication, and hopefully less hassles when our ATTs come up for renewal.;)

my pal is good till 2011, so i'm assuming that GRGC simply chooses to make the att coincide with membership renewals, which kinda makes sense, but is still a pain. foxbat, whats this change you're talking about? any concrete details?

It's my understanding than the individual in charge of club issued ATT's has been replaced......

I can tell you this in Nova Scotia the club has to do an ATT request on your behalf,if it is your first year,no matter how long we say you should have it for they will only issue one for 1 year, unless you are a competitor (IPSC etc),I believe it's because a lot of people just join long enough to get the restricted firearm than don't renew.

My ATT is good till April 2011. I phoned on my own to get it and it was no problem. My is good for Alberta, B.C, Sask and Manitoba.
