OMG, I love the finish on those. That would be called a hi polish reblue?
Top is .38super 1929, bottom is 1918 comeercial .45acp Both long gone now.

How on earth could you part with them?????
if memory serves, i think yo'd be better off going aftermarket barrel and bushing- my mk4/series 70 has the FINGER BUSHING AND BARREL- but that's 45 acp- i don't know whether that was for all calibers in that series or not- these things had a reputation for breaking "fingers", although it never happened to me

Yes, you will blurr or completely lose that script if you have the side flat filed to remove the pitting. Personally, at this point I'd opt for the bead blast & reblue to keep the script, proofs, logos intact etc. Will come out a matte finish but at least it will look good overall. Besides, it is a shooter, no?![]()
the previous owner for faulty storage. No Weinjack, im not referring to you....unless!!!! ***UPDATE***
Well boys after countless suggestions from you guys and much grrr'ing trying to figure out what to do with it, I have shipped it to Gunnar today. He said that he will try to save the letters on the right side but if they look crappy after he's taken the pitting out, then they will go bye bye. As for the finish, i got hooked on the high polish but all that will depend on what Gunnar finds once he gets into it.
So that is that. Gunnar says 2-4mths![]()
i actually liked the look of it all beat up ect
gives it a personallity
Its ALIVE......just got an email from Gunnar. He said he got the barrel fitted and she is ready to rock. Still have to pay for it, but if all goes well. Im hoping that she will be back in mt dirty little hands in about a week.....2 weeks tops.
I'll post pics when she is home. Gunnar did mention that the Fusion barrel doesnt fit very well so the slide sticks out a bit at the back. Still functions, but aesthetics wise im sure it will be noticeable.
What?? If it didn't fit you should have sent it back. It took Jason Spencer about fifteen minutes to fit mine and it looks and functions great.
