Hi there!

This spring I've been working on my weakest shooting skill with a rifle - the Snap Shot. To help with 2021-Covid-Cabin-Fever I thought it might make a good Brobee223 video:

Curious how others think about and practice their snap shots?

Best,

Brobee

I thought it read 'slap shot' and went for my hockey stick to practice. Good video, thanks. I'll show it to my daughter who is responsible for the empty freezer this past fall because she doesn't have a snap shot. I mean, really, I sent 3 large ones right past her watch. :)

I like the scout scopes when mounted closer to a traditional style like that.

Are those full size centrefire deer targets on the range?

i like your second iron sight setup. whats the rifle and sight combo? I run a ruger Gunsight with open sights that are similar. although i think i would like your much slimmer front sight post

Yes, we made a couple of life-sized ar500 deer and elk silhouettes with dynamic paddles in the right places. They were expensive, but are a riot to shoot.

Nice shooting and nice rifle. Is that a tikka Arctic in a standard t3 stock?

I wish they made a left handed arctic! If they did I would have one. Sadly I am left handed, which means to get the rifle I wanted I had to go on a bit of an epic trip. I waited for Cabela’s to have a sale, then bought a right handed arctic and a left handed t3x varmint. I had a gunsmith switch the barrels and re-headspace them, then stole the Arctic sights for my new build and sold the other gun with full disclosure as to its origin, describing it as a tikka t3x arctic varmint.

I love the arctic sights...they are the best part of the whole system imho.

To others...thank you for your kind and encouraging comments!

Best,

Brobee

I'm glad to see things of this nature discussed. That is some speedy shooting! Too many people are attached to a bench with a perfect shooting routine, and somehow think it translates directly to the field. I'm not bagging on any disipline, just that if it takes you longer to shoot two groups than it takes me to eat a sammich, it doesn't translate to hunting very well. If you can drop down (even right at your bench) and hammer an awesome 3 shot group in 5-10 seconds, well great. You're probably my new hero. This video shows me something useful for real life and that everyone can work on. Bonus points for your daughter on the quick reload of the second shot.
