My Cowan rest

I posted this in another forum, but thought I would show the rimfire guys as well .

This is a Joe Cowan, Windage adjustable rest. It seems extremely well built, and is very, very steady. It weighs about 14 pounds without bags. They are fairly expensive though, and this one cost a bit more then I was hoping it to, but IMHO it was worth it. The windage, and elevation adjustments are super smooth.

This makes my Hoppes rest feal and look like a piece of junk.

I've got two Hoppes Expert rests complete with bags I'll trade you for.

or not, what was the damage when the smoke cleared in Cdn dollars. Do they not run about 250.00 US?

I just might have to contact him in regards to just the windage top.

I allready have the heavy footprint of the Caldwell 1000 yard rest but I would sure like to upgrade the top. It weighs in at over 22lbs.

The rest came to about $370 . Shipping and importing it was the main thing. I got billed $82.00 just for import fees. I am going to contact UPS and see what they have to say though. I thought 5.00 was the standard import fee. And I had allready payed shipping. I believe they run for around $220 or something in the US

UPS charges a border brokerage fee (rip-off), some minimum, or a percent of the shipment value.

I always specify mail, or parcel post... no brokerage fees.

NEVER, NEVER have anything shipped by UPS as their charges are a complete rip-off. I always specify an order NOT to be shipped by UPS or else I cancel the order. Norm B is absolutely correct.
