Took this home last night from TargetSports, but this is the first time I have had to get it out and get some pictures up.

This was a Certifed Pre Owned (CPO) SIG Sauer P226 that I got for 930 taxes in. After playing with the SP-01, XD9, M&P, CZ75, BHP, Glock17, 1911 9MM and a few others I decided on this one. Transfer started on the 27th and was approved evening of the 29th, not bad :D. Came with two magazines (which were old bodies, few marks nothing major with a new spring inside it. I kept it loaded all last nite and its much easier to load now.) paperwork, stupid cable lock, manual and the sweet sweet gun.

The gun has ZERO markes on the slide and the only wear on the internals are the normal barrel and guide rod marks. She looks brand new.

Anyways on the the pictures.

Great case that it came in...

Can't wait to get this thing out to the range when I get my permanent ATT. I am looking to buy 500-1000 rounds of 9MM 124Gr in Ontario or somewhere close where shipping won't be that bad. Under 12 bucks a box please, any suggestions? I am paying 13.60 after tax for a box of 124Gr at LeBaron of WWB. I'd like to buy in bulk and get that down to about 11 a box after tax, suggestions? Marstar has cases of 1000 of 124Gr WWB for 260 taxes in, but thats only a savings of 12 bucks over buying at LeBaron + shipping so thats not worth it.

I have a MecGar 10 round on its way to me as we speak. I like the factory magazines but since so few were made I can't take the 60 bucks a pop, and the plastic floor plate is prone to breaking as I hear. Any comments on the MecGar? I might order a few through P&D or Marstar soon.

Actually from ALOT Of people I have heard you can go wrong with Wolf. That may have just been more about some of his business practices and not his product.

I've been in touch with Wolf and 1000 for 179 is pretty reasonable. I just need a good bullet for range practice thats cheap and will get my skill up.

Good find. Looks like very little Sig 'smileys' on the barrel but cannot really tell from the 'blurred' pic. :D If that barrel wear on the CPO is an indication of its actual field use, you got some breaking in to do!

enjoy and happy shooting... :shotgun:

Ya that camera I used is old(er)

The slide looks like P229 and the grips look like P223, but I do assure you they both say P226 :D

Took it out today, the sights are shifted little more than a MM over to the left, and I don't know why. Its shooting left so I am going to get the punch out and see if I can tap it over just a little bit.

EDIT * Mission successful, sights are now dead center in the middle of the slide. Took 3 light taps, checking movement after each one. Gonna go see how it shoots next time and I'll bring my punch and hammer to make and slight adjustments.

yep nice gun, definetly a good pick... i like sigs, got 6 226's myself and 2 cpo 220's.

and mec gar mags so far work for me, they seem to put up with competition abuse.

SIG has a good reputation but I just don't trust aluminium in a firearm. Our C7's of course are the same and I just wish we had G3's instead. Something in steel or even plastic is more desirable for me.
I own a Glock and cannot say enough good things about it. However, if the SIG 226 is good enough for the SAS then it must be a good pistol. Congrats on the purchase.

Btw...I do reckon SigArms's SAS has nothing to do with the British Special Air Service....but rather SigArm Anti-Snag or something to that effect.

There are the Sig Blackwater and Navy( 'as used' by the Seals with anti-corrosion bits) however for the 'good enough' statements
