my craving for a .22 MP5

Yeah the GSG5 crap really annoys me. I think it has to do with copyright infringement more so than anything else. (makes ya wander how Norinco gets in heh) I guess if you got the cash you can block anything.

1000$ is too rich for a .22 even 600ish is high imho.

But eitherway I'll keep checking on development.

copyright infrigement? Pretty sure thats not the case. The gun was classified as prohibited because of its appearance. I doubt the RCMP lab that issues FRT numbers gives a damn about copyrights.

If they did, you would indeed not get a single Norinco in Canada.

And for a .22 mp5....i'd pay 600$ for one...if the quality of the gun was there...

There are 2 issues:
1: GSG-5 classed as prohibited variant of HK MP5.
2: HK sued GSG and won for infringement on the design so there are no more GSG-5 being made. Whats the point of spending time on a specific firearm that is not produced.

hmm, interesting, i wasn't aware of that.

So what about the H&K .22 mp5? i'm guessing that the mechanism would be even closer to the real thing than the GSG, so chances are pretty slim right...

Eff my life

Actually, likely the opposite. The 'HK' .22 clones are made by UMAREX. Their versions are supposed to be less faithful reproductions than the GSG ones.

ok, so good news!!

Anyone tried to bring them in?? I know the GSG incident may have left a bitter taste in peoples mouth, but...

oh by the way, i just read that after HK sued, GSG made some modifications that pleased HK enough and now GSG sells the updated version which is the GSG-522. the differences seem minor, like stipples on the grip and foregrip. So i guess fighting to get the GSG approved for Canada is still worth it.

Why do you say that? What was HK's responsability? Wasn't it the RCMP that classified it prohibited, solely based on its appearance?

No I mean this. HK are a bunch of dicks.

Move to Idaho, save your pennies, pay your tax stamp, buy the real thing, shoot it in your back yard, fight off waves of neighbours - not because they want to stop you, but because they want to try it out. Have the local Sheriff show up, not to take away your gun - after all it's your RIGHT to own it and he RESPECTS your RIGHT to own it - he just wants to play too, only let him if he brings his own ammo.

.. Sigh. I know what I'll be dreaming of tonight.

The hell with a .22 MP5. I want the real thing in 9mm. Hmmm... Well fine, and one in .22 just to play around with when I'm feeling cheap or taking newbies out to shoot. Oh. And select fire would be good. And yes, I'll take one of those magical unicorns as well please. In blue.

I couldn't afford to feed a select fire version in 9mm, but a select fire .22 would be my affordable holy grail. I'll take one of those unicorns, too. I want mine in green, though.

Because we use our tax dollars to fund lying hypocrites like Wendy to lobby our weak kneed and corrupt governments to restrict us more with each passing year?
