My Crow Killing Setup.

Magpies are some of the most satisfying things to shoot.A couple of years ago, after unsuccesfully trying to shoot some for a couple years,I got lucky.I was living in the country in a trailer home about 30 feet from the edge of a large wooded area.I had shot a deer and threw out some trimmings and leftovers at the edge of the bush.Well at about 5 oclock in the morning I was woken up by about 30 of them.I went over to the back door and opened the window, but they seen me and left. The next evening I made shure the window was open and went to bed.Same time in the morning they woke me,so I went back to the door and stayed 5 feets from the door and shot about 10 threw the screen in the window. They had no idea where the shots were coming from.To this day,one of the most satisfying feeling I have had, even if it was at 5 in the morning.

Some people down south in the US eat crow on a regular basis. Have not tried it myself and frankly I'm not too interested in trying it. I'm quite sure though that crow wouldn't be much worse than half the ducks guys shoot!

I just "recycle" the crows that I take.

Yeah I hunt them in my back yard. I live just outside city limits where sometimes the crows pass in the morning or afternoon. I also recycle the crows I shoot. I have no interest in eating them. Woodchucks the same. I consider them varmints and can't see myself eating them.

EAt them? What the Fuuuu_____k!!! Nasty. Not to mention you'd need 17 of them just to flavor a bowl of soup.
I was pumpin gas at Mohawk one day and the attendent and I started talkin about shootin rabbits (there was one runnin by). Anyways, he claims to have about 15 recipies for gopher. WTF?!
He was one Spppppeeeecial dude. Pumpin gas was outta his league. (Guess that's why I had to do it)
Am I off topic? Oh ya, Crows.... mmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmm.

I've seen recipes for crow breast. They called for a lot of spices. Tells you something about the meat. Personally, I'd have to be starving before I would consider eating crow. I'll stick to waterfowls.
