It's still my favourite carbine from my collection :) 7.62x39, maxwell adapter, 10 round XCR mags, BC tactical handguard, AK74 style brake, AK pistol grip, Magpul CTR stock. Now I have a functional cleaning rod :)

I think you need a couple more CSA's for all the accessories you have laying around. Probably trick out about 4 of them.

That's what I had to do! ;)

Looking good id64! I sway back and forth between tactical 11.8" or old school wood "ak74u clone". The BC tactical handguards look good on the short rifles
Had my 11.8" out to range the other day. I was hitting the 8" gong at 100m with the irons. Gotta change out the front sight for a fiber op one though.

Looking good man! What's the max range for the Burris red dot? I've been considering one for so looooooong but could only find reviews for 50 yards. Also it needs a shield! Lol

That is one sweet Vz.

I'm just about done tricking mine out. I'm just looking for a maybe a muzzle break and a bipod that attaches to the bayonet lug and I'm pretty sure I'm done after that. I too had the idea of putting the cleaning rod under the barrel but decided on putting the bipod on instead. I'm really just looking for a way to make that really long barrel look a little less g@y and the bipod is functional as well as the cleaning rod. Its like when people removed the bayonet and cleaning rod from an SKS. It looks like it just not neutered.

This is how it was when it was original new out of the box.

Yeah, I have one NR and I am not big fan for the look of 18.5 naked barrel. Adding muzzle brake will make it even more awkward. Damn stupid rules....

I only maybe wanted the muzzle break if I decide I want to go for a Dragunov clone look. Crown Arms sell some really neat muzzle breaks for that. Its something I can take off at anytime I feel too. This Vz 58 is going to be used for hunting at least once though. I can't stand how the fuds think a .223 won't take down a deer so not only am I going to do it, but I'm going to do it with a tactical rifle just to rub it even more into their face. .223 is legal to hunt deer with in BC.... Hell its legal to hunt moose with a .223 in BC.

Any details on modding your magwell adapter? I've heard of it being done but never seen it. It functions flawlessly with the xcr mags, no hang ups? Nicely done by the way, looks badass

This adapter is designed for 5.56 version of CSA, but works just fine with 7.62. The only thing that is different from the original one on mine is that I've removed plastic feeding lips (one broke anyways ) and it works just fine. I've also replaced the retaining pin that holds mag release and mag lock pin with 6-32x1 1/2 screw and fixed with nut on the other side of the magwell adapter to eliminate a wobble. Also, I've glass bedded back of it to reduce the mag wobble as well. Now it's very sturdy and feels very solid as well.

Id64, are you finding the magwell adapter functioning at 100% with these mods? I've heard some people complain of issues with the adapters.

Your photos are always superb!

Works 100% for me so far. More testing is coming when temperature move towards spring numbers :)

Now for the big question, anyone tried this specific adapter on a 858? I used to have the B&t one but didn't like it, didn't feed properly either. Had my rifle machined too. Was thinking of trying to pick up one of the Csa's off the ee and try it out...

That's one MIGHTY fine looking VZ!

Am I reading this correctly?
You can use the 5.56 magwell conversion kit for 7.62 XCR mags?
If this is possible...OH BOY! :d

I might have to open up the front sight cover and add the 5.56 adapter if this is true...

It's true, my son. Proceed :) Just make sure that your receiver can accept this adapter without machining. Latest CSA 223 and 762 are fine, but you have to double check.

I want to learn more about these 556 adapters? How do I know mine will accept it? Mine is a 2013. Also and most importantly no machining to receiver.

Where can I buy the adapter and an XCR pistol mag to try?

Thanks

Andrew
