My daughter Madison is 12, she was drawn to hunt in Saskatchewan (Muzzle loader/Archery/Shotgun only zone). Mom and I took her hunting today instead of going to school...the bad parents we are:). We spotted 3 bucks in the brush about 300 yds off a trail. We parked the truck out of sight and she and her mom proceeded to sneak back to see if they could get into a good shooting distance. With the wind in their face, on their hands and knees they snuck to 125 yds, they checked the range with the rangefinder, steadied the .50 cal Traditions ML Pursuit Pro scoped with a Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40 and loaded with a 245 gr Barnes Spitfire TMZ and 100 grns of 777 on a set of Bogpod shooting sticks and when he stood up Madison laid him out...he was not the largest of the 3 bucks as there was a monster as well (he never gave a good shot opportunity) but she picked the best shot and harvested herself a beautiful Mule deer buck again her 1st ever deer and with a muzzle loader too boot...enjoy the pics...what a great day for a proud set of parents (Mom lead the sneak and dad watched from a distance)...wooo hoooo...backstraps for supper tonight...

Congratulations to you all. Nice family outing. We never let school get in the way of hunting either. All the kids were honor roll, despite missing a few days in the fall. Keep up the great work! Eagleye.

Congrats Madison what a great buck you harvested!

Good job to Mom and Dad for taking her hunting instead of wasting another day in PS.....lol....I remember getting a few days off to hunt with my dad when I turned 12 boy I would look forward to Nov even more then Christmas....

And that wasn't the largest buck in the group? That's a very nice buck regardless and something she should really be proud of...I certainly would be if it were mine.

Great job Mom & Dad, she's headed in the right direction and that missed day of school won't hurt her in the least.
