I took my daughter to the stand with me on the Sunday of opening weekend just to spend some quality time with her. We had no intentions of her shooting a deer that day. I have seen this buck on the trail camera, and while it is I nice 10 pointer (5x5) I had decided not to shoot it this year. So, we are sitting in the stand and at 5:15pm guess who shows up. We watched him for about 5 minutes and my daughter kept saying that she couldn't believe that I wasn't going to shoot. She then said how nice that would be for her first buck. Then she asked if she could shoot it. How could I say no? I said of course and the rest is history. One shot from my TIKKA T3 lite 30/06 and a 150 grain Barnes TTSX and he dropped like a rock.
He scored 144" gross B&C. A trophy to remember.
