I picked this up recently and it arrived today. I think it looks great with my .22. They make a beautiful set.

I don't know why you buy that dusty old junk. Get something new like a nice $199 Savage 22. Heck, I will even trade you just because I feel sorry for you. Did you need the mag stamped?

The hard part is trying to find the rear sight and especially the front target sight by Parker and Hale. Anyone know of a good source for either.
On a side note you see pictures of the sniper rifle version of the Lee Enfeild with a Monty Carlo type stock installed as per the CF, would anyone know of a source for those as well?

My next dream rifle is to get a DCRA rifle as well, just recently purchased a SMLE Lithgow done up by thier version of the DCRA.

Parker Hale 5C sights turn up quite often. The globe front sights less so.
To which CF monte carlo buttstock are you referring? Only ones of which I am aware are in the experimental category.
If you want one of the 7.62 conversions done at CAL, just keep your eyes open. They're around. Trick is to find one that has not been altered.

mcminn - do you have any idea about the history of your .22? Who put it together, used it, etc? The forend rail looks as if it was intended for a PH handstop.

Sadly, I do not have any more information than what the rifle tells me. It is a numbers matching 1943 Longbranch N0. 4 MkI* with all Longbranch components (no Savage bands or swivels) and it has a C No.7 barrel, bolt head and magazine. The front globe sight is an FS22 and the rear sight is 4651a. The rail is for a Parker Hale type hand stop so I can only assume that it was used for competition at some point in it's life.

Good Day,
Great looking rifles. I too am intrigued by the PH rail. Can you please provide a few close up views of the inletting and installation?
Thank you,
Michael

The .22 I searched high and low for but the DCRA found it's way to me through a PM on this site that asked "Are you interested in buying this rifle?"
