My digital weapon system AR-15-2000

It will be more interesting if you can mount the M4 on the RC car and use the iphone to control it, more like the other way around.

Could the phone be mounted at either 3 or 9 o'clock? Then you could move the ROV to spot targets from behind cover.
I do not see how the 12 o'clock position would work.
Also, the mount seems a bit big and bulky. Perhaps something sleeker and hinged, so the unit could be folded in when not in use?

I was in the camp of why... until I saw it had a weapon name at the top right corner. Can it be programmed to be zeroed on multiple guns? Does it auto adjust the cross-hair to adjust for wind? Also the side mount to check on out of sight targets could be a cool idea.

Also the mount a pistol idea to the robot makes a lot of sense to me...

I will explain as op does not want to for some reason.

Its a way to do augmented reality to display data in regards to your targets, environmental conditions and ballistics. The applications are endless and limited to the application written on ios. You could have a real time dynamic optic that makes adjustments on the fly in regards to sensors picking up data in your environment. The US military uses augmented reality training programs spawned by technology similar to the Oculus Rift.

You could project virtual reactive targets into your environment and engage them in battle to practice certain scenarios with the rifle firing live ammo or digital.

You could use your optics augmented reality to highlight real enemies and keep track of them in real time and never loose sight of their movements.

You could involve augmented reality and artificial intelligence to consider all available tactical options while engaged in a battle to predict enemy movements or consult in real time strategies in a dynamic battle field.

Perhaps you place the camera on a quad rotor aerial device and track real time aerial movements of animals or people while relaying that information to your optic.

This product in the scope of the technology is a piece of junk but this technology is the way of the future and is beyond most peoples understanding at the moment due to the fact they have not experienced true virtual reality or augmented reality. I have been part of the Oculus Rift development community for some time and Virtual Reality technology has opened my world up to imagining extremely immersive training simulations and augmented reality to aid in real life.

seems like a fun tech toy if you want to do some videos with the rifle.

move the robot close to the target and use it instead of a spotting scope

not sure how accurate/durable the whole thing is

Sounds like an expensive way to play duck hunt.

The problem with HUD's is that they depend largely on powersource and glass. Both of which are not easily replaceable when in ops. HUD's as with all other EM emitting devices are subject to MIJI. Personally, I'd only trust actionable intel if it was HUMINT verified or corroborated by another source. The company I work turns Full Motion Video into actionable intelligence and the FMV source comes from myriad sensor types including payloads mounted on quad-rotor and fixed wing UAV. In that context, we have multiple INT sources coming in, its verifiable. Personal or individual-level type HUD's may be the future - but through all the excitement - my biggest fear is that the user becomes solely reliant on something that has a shelf-life and consumable power source - and individual fighting skills will go to ####.

Seems like a good idea, until this happens, and just as you're about to pull the trigger too:
