My digital weapon system AR-15-2000

I will explain as op does not want to for some reason.

Its a way to do augmented reality to display data in regards to your targets, environmental conditions and ballistics. The applications are endless and limited to the application written on ios. You could have a real time dynamic optic that makes adjustments on the fly in regards to sensors picking up data in your environment. The US military uses augmented reality training programs spawned by technology similar to the Oculus Rift.

You could project virtual reactive targets into your environment and engage them in battle to practice certain scenarios with the rifle firing live ammo or digital.

You could use your optics augmented reality to highlight real enemies and keep track of them in real time and never loose sight of their movements.

You could involve augmented reality and artificial intelligence to consider all available tactical options while engaged in a battle to predict enemy movements or consult in real time strategies in a dynamic battle field.

Perhaps you place the camera on a quad rotor aerial device and track real time aerial movements of animals or people while relaying that information to your optic.

This product in the scope of the technology is a piece of junk but this technology is the way of the future and is beyond most peoples understanding at the moment due to the fact they have not experienced true virtual reality or augmented reality. I have been part of the Oculus Rift development community for some time and Virtual Reality technology has opened my world up to imagining extremely immersive training simulations and augmented reality to aid in real life.

Yah makes sense, I just don't understand why this technology would be physically installed on a rifle as a scope instead of being in some military version of google glass. That way when the tech fails, you still have workable optics on your rifle.

I get why the OP did this...because it is fun and he can... EXACTLY the only reason to own an AR15 in Canada as well...Some people are just douches because there is no repercussions for acting like a douche on the internet.

I dunno......id probably laugh my ass off and shake my head if I ever saw this #### at the range in person....its pretty silly.

So it's like playing video games but real bullets are flying?
That's just what we need these days.

I have a better idea. Leave your phone in your mom's minivan when you are at the range and experience real life fun without the electronic gizmos.
I sure miss the days before we had these stupid smart phones attached to us 24 hours a day.
People can't drive without playing with them and now people can't go shooting without playing with them.
Where is a massive EMP when you need one?

"No sporting purpose"

Brings a chill down the spine, eh?

In Canada ARs can only be owned for 'sporting purposes' ie; 3 gun, target shooting, etc...sadly not for hunting of self defence :(

Same here, but it still is kinda cool...assuming you are in to guns and shooting....and not an elitist douche!!

Well I only asked him to explain what this is for since I wasn't getting it, and he called me a dumb idiot for not knowing how to operate an Iphone. Personally I think the only douche here is the OP.

I'd describe myself as more of a common sense douche and not really an elitist douche.....
I do wish I was 11 again though....11 year old Hitzy would play with that #### all day long lol

I should have posted to a forum were people had enough IQ to work an Iphone.

Ok, I have a degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies and Computer Electronic Technologies. (far from brain dead) I cannot for the life
of me think what practical or even eccentric use this might have.

Please would you explain what you use it for and how its useful to you.

Thanks.

Eight pages and nobody has asked... WHEN ARE YOU BRINGING THESE IN!?!?

At first, I thought this was just a joke, sort of like how companies in the 80's added "2000" to everything to make it sound futuristic, but then I remember his other thread and figured he just needed a refresher of what people thought:

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/982939-brand-new-inteliscope!

So, let me see if I can figure out what’s going on here:

1. The Op has mounted a video camera to an ROV, which feeds a video stream to a video screen/camera which is mounted to his weapon.
2. What he sees on his video screen is not what he’s shooting at, but what the camera on his ROV is pointed at.
3. His weapon could potentially be pointed at his foot when he squeezes the trigger, but what he sees on his screen/targeting computer could potentially be his neighbors going at it on the couch?

I, like many others am at a loss as to why he has done this. I mean, sure the ROV with the camera mounted to it could to a little recce for him, say around the corner (not exactly inconspicuous, that ROV, so being covert is out of the question), or maybe drive up to a target sheet that’s 1,000 meters away. But to have this feed mounted on your rifle, while obstructing your view from a real optic, scope or back up iron sights, seems about as useful as a bipod on a short barrelled AR rifle (which he had, but seems like has since removed the picture), or a drum magazine (pinned to 5) on a restricted rifle in Canada (which he also had, but has since removed the picture).

JTF? I’m not so sure if your application as a cook to the Primary Reserves would get screened in, let alone JTF.

Well what it boils down to is this: its his rifle and can do whatever he wants to it. I mod my rifles as well although with real world functionality so I say kudos its your money. Thankfully you are nowhere near my neighbourhood and theres no way your stray .233 are crossing the country!

How come there is no original post any more? I can't figure out what you guys are talking about?
What did JTF# came up with this time??? :)

Looks like he edited his original post ande deleted the picture.

Basically, he had this:

and a camera mounted to an ROV, remote operated vehicle like an RC tank or something, and the image from the camera was fed to the screen mounted to his rifle.

First off: man some of you guys are DB's.... Fukc.

Second: Would I use it? Probably not....but who cares?

Third: I think that ROV would kick ass to have at the range....park it in front of the target, see your point of impact...hell, screen shot a photo of your target and post it to CGN.

Fourth: Did I mention some of you are DB's?

EMP generators are easier to build than you think! But with the opto-electronics we have in our warehouse . . . we're not risking an "ND" from one of those wiping out the stock ;)

Also: we're sad to see the original post go. It certainly wasn't for everyone (some would argue anyone) but different stuff is different stuff! We'd rather read something like this rather than yet another "what optic should I put on my Norc" thread
