My Dlask Barrell Hates Blazers?

Bought a Dlask 12.5 for 10/22.

It functions flawlessly with American Eagle, and it pretty much refuses to feed CCI Blazers...this is something I have never seen before, as in every other rimfire I own, AE is less trustworthy.

Is this normal, or do I have a problem?

No, no problem. Unless of course you continue to feed it Blazers ;)

Dlask barrels favor bulk brand Remington, Winchester and Federal .. but CCI seems to FTE or FTF constantly.
 
This is with the Bentz chamber, correct? This is interesting news as I have a 12.5" Dlask barrel waiting to be installed on my SR-22. If my scope base hadn't "sheet the bed" on me on my initial time out shooting, I'd have had it installed it by now. lol

I was lead to believe the Bentz chamber was less favorable towards the bulk bullets due to tighter chamber tollerances. In your experience, what specific brand(s) of ammo appear to function the best with acceptable accuracy?
 
CCI ammo is oversize for whatever reason which seems to be why it does so well in sporting chambers by keeping tolerances tighter (like fire-formed CF brass) All my .22's love Blazer like fat kids with smartie addictions. Most other ammo is not made this way and does well in the Dlask match chamber (I think they call it the "extreme" chamber or something) As for functioning well with acceptable accuracy its the same story: try it all and let the gun sort it out. The usual mag thing applies too: 10 rd rotary for best reliability followed by BC steel lips. Dlask mentioned their barrels are designed for bulk ammo like AE, Federal, Win etc but no CCI unless you get them to run their sporting reamer thru it. Before they all sold out, the lighter contour barrels were on the site with sporting chambers but the recent batch have match chambers.

I had a couple boxes of blazers left over here as well.... I got my first 10/22 a couple months ago, and they wouldnt function in that thing at all... FTE, every 3rd round! It seems to like federal bulk.

I just ordered a 12.5" .920 Dlask yesterday. We'll see whats what with that thing when i get it installed. :) BTW, im glad i finally got one. I called Dlask yesterday, and Joe told me they sell out REAL quick!
 
I tried ONE shot of blazer in my Dlask 16" .920, NEVER will i try it again.

The live round got stuck in the chamber, i heard all the warnings about the bentz chamber and didnt know why i couldnt shoot blazers (stingers i understand why) so i wanted to try it. As i couldnt get the round out by cycling the bolt i didnt wanna dig it out with a knife or screw driver, so i decided to fire it out!


The round was properly seated in the chamber, i pulled the trigger and everything was somehow forced out the ejection port.... the bullet must have just barely had enough force to exit the barrel im thinking, but scared the hell outta me and the fellow shooter next to me. so no more for me.

Don't think that will happen. Using manual type lathe and mill it took a long time to build. Prob as much time thinking and R+D { trial and error for those of us without engineering degrees} as in the actual finished product. A qualified cad guy and cnc equipment would make short work out of it. It also would'nt fit a regular 10/22 as it fits right up into the reciever with no stock just like the original Thompson. Very limited application I would think. I liked the look of the other Tommy guns on the sight so I did one just for my own satisfaction and it was a bit of a challenge to get it right, failure wasn't an option. I didn't like the looks of the commercial drums, like a sack of s##t hanging there.

WOW. Thats drum is real work of art! I can see what you mean. Although, if you were to "sell" the design, say to someone who does a thompson 10/22 conversion. I'd imagine you'd have to patent it, then sell the patent.....All that aside, i can appreciate what went into it! Good work!
 
I recently bought a Dlask DAR .22 w/16" barrel, Bentz chamber. Joe advised against using CCI in it so I haven't tried any.

I haven't had time to thoroughly test it, but my preliminary results with medium grade SV target ammo are very encouraging. I tried:

Winchester T22 SV
Eley Sport
Federal Champion Target (Load 714 - SV)
SK+

Every one of these functioned perfectly. No FTEs or FTFs. Accuracy at 25 yds was excellent. Every brand shot 10 round groups into one hole, with the SK+ grouping the tightest - they all went through a hole about the size of a .45 round.

I was very impressed. This session was just to see what ammo functioned well. The accuracy was a bonus. Next time I'll move the range out to 50 yds to see how it does there.

The only drawback was the trigger. I ordered the trigger job, but it's still only marginally acceptable. There's always a slight amount of creep, then a hard pull until the round fires, then the need to allow the trigger to reset before shooting again. I'll be installing a new trigger assembly as soon as I can get my hands on one.

Dlask barrel with a Bentz chamber any problems with Rem Yellow Jacket, Rem Viper, Win hyper speed HP, Win supreme Xpediter?
 
I have feeding problems with yellow jackets in my dlask... But ten again I never did like any rem ammo. So not a big issue for me.
 
Mine loves Fedral target.
bulk Win HV runs well.
American Eagle.

Ive even ran Rem subsonics without much trouble except the dirt from them.
 
Mine LOVES plain Jane federal bulk 525's! Cheap, cycles ONE HUNDRED % so far (2 bricks) and accurate! BUT ( just don't get this) jams like a mother with American eagles... Aren't they an identical round?
