I’d like to think that every collector has a certain gun that they’ve always dreamed of owning. For me, that gun has always been the M1 Garand rifle. Thanks to a summer of saving up, I was finally able to add my dream rifle to the collection. Pictured below is my all 1944, SA-produced M1. What’s everyone’s dream surplus gun?

Nice Garand. A nice matching and original M1 Garand like yours would be near the top of my list of milsurps I want the most. Other include a matching K98, a nice all original M1 Carbine, and an Mas 49-56

Nice looking rifle. M1's are soooo nice to shoot. Big old rifle, semi auto action, history dripping off it. I took an American goose hunter out one afternoon and let him shoot my dear old 1942 SA. "Damn! I gotta get me one of these!" were his words after shooting off a clip. :d

Nice M1, they are nice rifles. I sure hope the tyranny does not attempt to take it away

I'd like a 1805 Baker Rifle like this

I just have not found one yet.

What a fantastic looking M1, You'll fall in love very quickly! There is nothing like ringing steel at 400 yards with an M1 and .30-06. My dream surplus gun is a very early "Ram-Rod" M1903 Springfield, very rare rifle in an extinct round.

Well that or a Police Surplus Colt 601 AR15 like pic related

Love it! Congrats. Definetly in my top 3, along with a Polish prewar WZ-29 Karabinek and the VIS-35 prewar. Holy grails for me.

Certainly a nice looking M1. Care to post a few more photos? Is the stock GAW / NFR cartouched? Perhaps it also has an uncut 9 SA op-rod? The lock bar rear sight appears to be the type III variety which is totally correct for a 1944 vintage rifle. When time permits, I’ll post a few of mine. ;)
