These two handguns came back into focus as my collection was being recently inspected by the SQ.
I had forgotten that they had been registered
I have no idea where my Father got them?

BUT ---he gave them to me when I was a young 'kidlet'.
They are still in my safe and they became a topic of conversation during the recent inspection.
I don't remember why they were ever registered.

The second pistol.

This afternoon I found this on the Internet.

https://bluestemantiques.com/product/british-bulldog-38-cal/

Description
British Bulldog 38 cal. type revolver. This is a Belgian proofed 38 cal. pocket revolver of the type carried by many in the Old West. After most towns forbade the open carrying of firearms the men and women found these sturdy revolvers the perfect solution to their problem. There is a great new book devoted to them. This revolver is untouched and has a great deal of pocket wear. It is functional but the ejector rod needs a little coil spring to hold it in place. The grips are worn about half way and it has a light rust patina which I liked and did not clean. This is a real Old West 70’s or 80’s survivor. Custer was carrying a pair of Bulldogs at the Little Big Horn. They were everywhere, but Colt got all the glory.

Well the first handgun looks like a Belgian made British bulldog or something close to that. It would be antique and could/should be removed from the registry. I cannot comment on the difficulties that would entail in Quebec as I know you have a long gun registry and not sure what needs to be done with antiques there. The second one would be prohibited class 12(6) but eligible for class 12(7). If it is registered to your father then it could be passed on to you as 12(7). If not then it would need to be transferred to someone with 12(6) on their RPAL. If you already have it registered to you as 12(6) or 12(7) then just disregard what I said.

Cheers

Both of the pistols are registered to me as Prohibited.
I don't want to go through the hassle of deregistering them.

I bought the rifle shown below for my Father as a Christmas present in 1965.
It was purchased at an antique shop on Sherbrooke Street West in NDG --Montreal.

Years ago I requested that the two Civil War revolvers shown below be deregistered.

Both revolvers have been deregistered.

Original old registration certificate for the Starr in 1972 when we acquired it.
