Hello guys. It's my first thread about my new handgun.

I want to get a 9mm but I'm stuck between 2 classics or a cheap workhorse.

Berreta 92, Browning HP or Glock 17.

Your choise, why and if you've got one to sell. My budget is 900$ MAX if I can get lower it's better.

I've shot with those 3 and I liked them but the 92 and the hp actualy feels like you're shooting with a real handgun. I kinda like the Glock but it feels like a toy. I should try the CZ.

I was pretty set on getting the 92FS as my first 9mm. ending up getting a CZ shadow and LOVE it! :D. check out CZ too.

personally, i prefer the all metal pistols. like you mentioned the polymer frames feel like a toy. the 92FS felt nice though. im getting one eventually as well.

im a glock guy so there's my vote.

the bonus with glock is the aftermarket upgrades....easy to get and always in stock...somewhere....

I should try the CZ.

Yes, you should! Sig 226 = over rated , CZ 75b = Under rated.

All three are ok choices, but you need to handle all three and see which one fits you best and provides you with a natural point of aim,ie;the Bereta has a large grip and you may find it awkward,CZ is a pistol for the masses that fits most peoples hand well, and the Glock again fits most people well but has a different design angle between grip/barrel and you may not find it natural to aim.Im personally not a fan but its hard to argue with the reliability/toughness of a Glock, and replacement and aftermarket goodies are available everywhere.Take someone who has some experience shooting with you to store or try to rent and try them out, welcome fellow handgunner, enjoy

Best advice I got when looking for my first pistol was that you have to try all the ones with with "good reps" and pick the one that fits you best. I have a polymer - G17 and an all steel - Bul Storm in 9mm and like them both.

It doesn't matter what you buy. You're going to buy more later anyway. Once you get one it won't stop there. Just pick one and go shooting. Your collection will just keep getting bigger.

I'd definitely go with the G17. Relatively cheap, will NEVER break or wear down on you, great accuracy, lightweight, high cap. mag, great supply of aftermarket parts, and legendary glock reliability. All of the pistols you listed are respectable weapons, but in my opinion none of them can compete with glock's performance standards.

Hmmm...very tough choice! normally I will give some suggestion but the guns that you list along with CZ happened to be my choice of guns. That means that these are a must have list. But if you can't get them all at the moment, go with Beretta or CZ as the first will save you a lot of search time.

This advice above should have come with a tablespoon of salt.

Anything can break, lightweight isn't always a good thing, high cap. mags (over 10rds) are prohibited in Canada, and since buying or keeping guns for self-defence isn't a valid reason to have firearms' lic. in Canada, we don't call them weapons either.

9MM you say. Glock 19 would be my two choice. Having owned both I enjoyed them more than any other 9MM that I shot. HK USP is also nice or the P30L works too.
