It started as a deal on a color blem lower from SFRC. Then I got a deal on a complete upper from SFRC. I added a Stag lower parts kit and some other stuff I had lying around and there you have it, my first AR build. All that's left is the BCG which is in the mail.
I think next I would like a dedicated .22 upper, a piston 7.62x39 and another one chambered in 7.62x40!

This AR stuff is addictive!

Holy smokes that was fast Trevor, wasn't that just a bare lower a week ago? What else are you going to do to it? I know you're not stopping with the setup you have in the picture.

The lower was a color blem and the upper had a "ding" mark on it from a punch, which I couldn't find.
Are NEA's the best or even "high end", not but they fit my budget and I won't. buy norc products. Besides, it's a toy, not a safety tool I trust my life to. The BCG is an NEA, not my first choice but it's all I could find in time for the weekend. My long term plan is to buy a top quality BCG for my STI Open AR and drop the current STI BCG into this build.

I love my STI. It's an IPSC/USPSA open AR built for competition. It doesn't have a Mil-Spec feel to it so it depends on they style of AR you're looking for I guess. I like it for what it is but it just doesn't seem very "military" to me.
