I've shot ARs many times, but have never owned one. I was wondering if anyone had any cleaning/oil/lube combinations that have worked well for them. I have heard a lot of good stuff about SLIP 2000 and was wondering what you all think of it?

Also, if there are any pointers, above and beyond the basics, that I should know, feel free to let me know.

Thanks in advance.

SLIP2000 sounds pretty good from what I've read. Since you say you already know the basics then buying lots of ammo and a good number of mags I don't think there's much else to say.

Check out this link at AR15 . com I am not sure about the rules for hotlinking to other forums, so you'll have to paste it in...

Thanks guys. I didn't think there was much else, but just wanted to check just in case.

Cheers.

EDIT: and thanks for the link Graeco. Very helpful

There's also Gunzilla from Neit Arms. just ordered some, should have it shortly, hopefully its as good as what I've read. Couldn't find any of the miraculous slip stuff...

I was just reading about Microlon Gun Juice. Theres some REALLY good reviews of the stuff. Does anyone on here use it? if so, with what results?

Thanks.

I like Slip 2000 because it is odourless. Militec works but smells kind of like burnt hair IMO. The Aussies use a foul smelling oil called Nyco lube, the worst smelling I have found but I will keep looking.
