Hey all,
I just received my first AR, a Daniel Defense M4V3. It was also my first restricted purchase and as such took almost a months to get here. Now during that wait I couldn't help to buy up all sorts of goodies for it.
I started with an Elcan SpecterOS4X, half a dozen PMags, Knights BUIS and finally a Troy Alpha rail.
When the DD showed up I admired it for almost a full 12 hours before deciding I wanted my new rail installed.
It was quite easy removing the flash hider, front sight post and Omega 9 rail and then discovered the proprietary Daniel Defense barrel nut that will not allow the Troy rail to mount. "Well ####!" I cried, "Now WTF!!!"
I guess I'll be needing a new nut which brings me to the reason for this thread,
Will a standard barrel nut work with the Daniel Defense barrel?

Still waiting on a Geissele trigger, Raptor charging handle, Troy ambi mag release BAD ambi safety, and who knows how many other bits and peices.

Yes, any barrel nut will work with the DD upper receiver. Did you use a vise block to remove the flash hider? It should slip right through your rail without needing to remove it unless you're upgrading that as well.
 
Slips through the rail fine but I needed to remove the sight post to make it low profile. After learning the new rail wouldn't work I re assembled so as to still fondle it.

Forgot to mention that, duh!! OF COURSE there will be a Geissele!!
Not sure if I want the SSA or SSA-E. A close friend has the SSA a and it is nice but figured I may try SSA-E.
