My first AR15 Purchase

I saw a brand new one with a 16" and quad rail go for $1700

So $1300 shipped for that seems like a reasonable price to me
 
That is a good price for a stag with the magpul goodies on it...if you go for it take the LAR mag...
 
Looking around long enough on the EE, you 'll eventually find the rifle you're looking for. I bought my first AR on the EE this year.

I actually ended up passing it by. I've been looking on the EE and found another

It looks like a pretty good deal to me. He will include the sights for $1300 too.
I'm curious though, what is that silver piece on the barrel? I'm not a big fan of the looks of that part.. would it be easy to hide/get rid of? At this point I really know very very little to do with AR15's so maybe that is a stupid question!

Silver piece is a gas block.
You can buy a black one and swap it if you don't like the silver.

Midwest Industries makes a nice low profile gas block which IMO would look better.
