I noticed that it may not look as good as I thought but after oiling it up it looks alittle better then when I first got it...
I'll probably try it again after the new year but practice makes perfect I guess.
what do you think old vs new?

Hey guys
well I used
Birchwood Casey® Perma Blue® Liquid Gun Blue
how ever SAIL didn't have the complete kit so I improvised....
first I soaked in mineral spirits to remove greese and gunk
then water and clr to remove rust and bluing...may not have been perfect but did the trick.
then with same water and clr took green scubbing pad and worked on metal instead of steel wool...didn't have any
got it down to nice shine but was afraid it would rust with out bluing so went ahead and applied bluing to seal it...for now
I'll take another photo to better show the gun...my wife told me first shot was in kitchen so I'll re take it later....
tazik----I'd prever to leave it without bluing what did you do just stripped bluing off and left it?
any ideas would be great
Glenn.

Strip the blue, than polish it with 2000-3000 sandpaper until mirror "look", apply carwax and polish ....,)

plinker 777 ---are you saying that wax is not good as you have to keep reapplying it?
this is not going to be a shelf gun I will use it very much so indeed.
tomorrow I'll take another photo of it to try and show it better.

That is what I'm saying tazzharm. It is for this very reason bluing/browning methods were developed in the first place. Back in the day, did they have knowledge of wax? Certainly. How about grease and oils? Certainly. Did they work for firearms? No. That's why they're blued.

If you weren't going to use it, wax would protect it from rust...but then you just have a shiny safequeen. T33's ain't safequeens.

hey
well sorry I've been alittle tied up but took a day and re did my bluing on this gun....I like my 2nd job better...

next time I work on it I'll try and buff out some of the minor pits and scratches but I didn't buy it for a show gun so who knows whats next
Glenn.

Nice work.

Like you said in your last post, it's a shooter not a museum piece, so overall those are good results.

Without going through a ton of extra work about the only improvement you might aim for is a bit of buffing. Use the mildest buffing compound you can find and you should see a combination of deeper and more glossy blue come out.

hey
no I did not blue the lock I had just finished cleaning my gsg from range trip to target sports and remembered I hadn't put up a new photo so was lazy and didn't take it off....
Once the snow comes besides clearing the driveway I won't have too many honey to do things so I'll probably clean it up...main concern is rust not so much looks as its not a show piece.
Glenn.
