My first attempt

I had pulled 265 bullets from some 5.56 I had and tonight was my first attempt at reloading my own shells. I used 23.5gr of Benchmark and 53gr Hornady Match HP bullets. I learned one thing, I should have de-burred the inside of the case mouth because 4 out of 20 shells had some copper scraped off of the bullet and sticking out of the shell. I scraped it off and although these bullets won't demonstrate any type of accuracy, are they safe to use or should I pull them and start over? I will be using them in a 10FP. The OAL is 2.300.5 on a dummy round that I made, but there were variances on some of the bullets that I checked. Some were 2.308 or so. Is this normal?

I'd use them. Yeah, their accuracy's probably crap, so use them as fouler shots.

Your COL varies due to trim length of the case and the bullet profile. Any slight variences will affect the final length. Unless your super anal about the setback off the lands, I don't see an issue.
