So I ordered a 597 HB, being a a West Coaster I have zeerow knowledge of French people, I found the gal who took my order to be terse and prickly, no transaction number, just goodbye. So I chalk it up up to a diffrent culture, I let a week go by, then I began to wonder if the order even went thru. I called back and had the opposite experience, very helpful, please call me back tommorow cause everthing shut down. To make a long story short I got very good service, transaction was confirmed, and I received my HB 597 exactly when she said it would be there. That was my first time dealing with a Quebec company, I would order from them again.

Must have gotten the same gal for my first order as well. No problems at all with the order though. Arrived when it should have and well packed. Lots of great priced goodies I don't see at any of the local stores. Looking forward to buying from them again.

Their on-line catalog looks like Internet circa 1998, but some decent pricing....and I want enough stuff to sign up for their 10% discount club card. I think its $25/yr, but will pay for itself with 1 rifle , heck, even 1 moderate scope purchase.

I've used them many times and gotten both prickly and nice people on the other end. But regardless of the demeanor, orders arrive as expected with some of the best prices around. I took a shot at online ordering a Leupold scope that is backordered everywhere (2-7x28 Gloss) and 4 days later it arrived. Beauty.

I live about 15 minutes from them and often go there simply because of the stock variety and pricing
i have purchased a lot of ammo and gear strangely no firearms yet
But the people are typical grumps at the firearms counter ignoring your there until they get around to it
But the general staff and cashiers are nice and friendly

Isn't it typical that a lot of gun shop counter people are grouchy old farts that give you the message why are you here to disrupt my day.Is it something in the drinking water or what.I am 60 + and have seen this forever.Who hires some of these dudes.

I placed an order with Lebarons last week. Got an email confirmation a day later but since then, nothing. No shipping notification, no credit card charge, nothing. Is that normal?

French? Terse and prickly? She actually said goodbye? I'd say you had a pretty good experience the first time around, and an exceptional one the second. I work retail and live 45 mins from the Quebec border and I wish my daily dealings with the french went that well.

My only experience with the company itself has been their store in Ottawa. Been there once and have little to no interest in going back.

I ordered a rifle from them a few weeks ago on a Wednesday. The girl was nice enough, told me the gun was in stock, took my CC and PAL numbers and that was it, no confirmation #, no e-mail, nothing. After a few days l started thinking maybe I should call back & get some details (yeah I know I must have had a brain fart on the original call) but I never got a chance because the gun showed up on Monday. So I'm a happy camper - and they had the best price around by about $50 on a $425 gun.

How do you view there firearms on line?
I went to there site and didn't see a link to any??

I know! It's a crap web page. Best way is to google search term Lebaron and the name of the rifle. That will usually produce a link to a pdf page in their catalog. As an example you'd see somet

I'll give it a try!

I was thinking the same thing, but I got reading and it says it doesn't include items on sale or on special there are a LOT of items in the catalog that say special next to the price.

I have bought a number of things at Lebaron's in Mississauga. There are one or two miserable pricks in the gun room. If you don't know exactly what you want they can be seriously crusty. They often ignore you until you make your presence known (jumping up and down and waiving helps).

I saw a guy come in there because he happened to be in the area and was in the market for a new rifle. He didn't know what kind but wanted to know what good deals they had. Mr. Crusty shrugged his shoulders and said "depends what you want". That was it. No suggestions, help or anything. I just shook my head and was glad I wasn't the store owner. How do some of these guys get jobs in retail sales? Thankfully they are not all like him. And I agree their online catalogue REALLY sucks!

Care to elaborate on that??

I've dealt with them a few times and have nothing but good reviews for them. Great prices and quick service.

Mrs. LeBaron was in full support of any and all gun control measures, up to and including banning handguns. Kind of cutting off your nose to spite your face considering her business, but logic isn't strong in that one....

It seems to be quite prevalent in my experience as well, Ive also met a lot of very nice people who don't mind showing you the ropes when you need some help with something.
