My second year out hunting (got skunked last year) and I was out hunting a bluffs area on Texada Island with my father-in-law. Before going up to the bluffs I had just seen a doe that I had missed a head shot on. Kicked myself for that, but pushed on. Walking along the bluffs, I looked off to my right about 40 yards away I see a single bush moving side to side rapidly.. I stop still and watch the bush. it keeps moving rapidly, and I start to wonder if its maybe just a squirrel messing around. I wait though for what seems like several minutes, but is probably only about 30 seconds and see the 2 point antlers surface from the left side of the bush, I watch as I see him come out in full and he still hasn't seen me. I scope him in and take a shot, this time aiming for his heart and pierce it just on the low side. After this, feeling like a kid in a candy store I call over my father-in-law saying "I got one!"... wait a few seconds and dont see him yet... then exclaim "It's a buck!" and just see him come around the corner.
An all round good hunting trip, but this was definitely the cherry on top
