I am in the assembly stage of my dream .300wm. But I'm struggling to decide on what bullet I should run. It'll be used for target out to 1200m and beyond(eventually). It's being built on a Stiller TAC300 action with a Krieger SS #17 1:10 5R @ 26". For bottom metal I'll be using an Accurate Mag system with the 3.850" mags so plenty of room to seat a heavy bullet out far to maximize case capacity.

I was thinking of using the Berger 215 Hybrid Target because of their high BC and optimal for 1:9.8 twist according to Bergers website.

Since this is my first .300 I just thought I'd call on the vast experience of some of my GGN friends.

Cheers

I have had great success with the 215gr Berger's in my 300 wm's out to 1500 yards on target & extended ranges on critter's. Have played with many different powder's, found that H-1000, retumbo & 7977 to be top performer's in my rifle's. I settled on a stiff load of H-1000, fed 215m primer's with Hornady brass. As for seating depths I have not seen a increase or decrease in accuracy seating from .010" jam to .750 jump. Both my .300's have 28" Pac-Nor barrels with 1/10 twist running same load's @ 2950 fps with very low ES. I would suggest starting @ .0150" off the land's working up your load carefully of course with a ladder test & OCW for your rifle. And congratulations on your new build, if you are in need of Berger's load data please let me know.

Thanks for the info. I would appreciate some load data for the 215 for some reason the manual doesn't have any. I'll be starting with Retumbo as I have a few pounds kicking around.

If you have a valid email address I would be happy to email it to you... And no the 215gr hybrid came out after the book was published & released, I believe anyway.

Cheers

215's With H1000 is a excellent combo. I am able to shoot them right at 3000 fps out of a 26" BRUX on a Borden Action.
