You're forgetting Heartbeat. I hate when it drowns everything else out.

OP- you'll never forget your first. The button buck I shot my first time was about that size. And 3-9x is the most popular rifle optic for a reason! I shot a buck at 25 yards early on with a fixed 4x, all I could see was fur. Managed to make out a shoulder somehow. It sounds like you're in some close cover if zeroing your scope at 75. You might consider a 1.5-4x if most of your work is up close. With a little practice it's still good for some longer shooting as well.

Agreed. I also prefer the younger, more supple meat of a fawn or calf.

Congrats on your first one,there seams to be a lot less deer around slave lake than the past few years,maby because we had a lot of snow last year and a lot more wolves.
