Any of you have done the same thing, it was important for me to get a pistol that always impressed me before even if i never handled it before, it was important for me to get a Desert Eagle 44 mag 24 KT gold, it will be here soon, off all the restricteds i ordered this is the one that really represent my debut in the restricteds world... JP.

You're not so easily impressed JP. Look forward to seeing pics of that pistol. Personally I'm a little more easily impressed and I know my wallet/budget will thank me for that.

The day you take all the fancys and pleasures out of your activity, it is no more a passion it become a chore... JP.

You're absolutely right, JP. The Desert Eagle may be a ridiculous beast, but I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it. After all, that's the point, isn't it?

Good thing you have to transport it in an opaque case.. That would be terrible if the 24k coating caught a glimmer of sun while you were driving!
Good on you for buying exactly what makes you happy. i'm curious to know how the coating would up to long-term usage.
I try for the same (when the fiance is turning her back anyhow!)

So true. I almost take more pleasure in letting other people shoot my .500 magnum. It's just something about that look they give you after, kind of a cross between terror and holy crap that was the coolest thing ever.

Before shooting it, my brother own a jewelry and he told me he would bring all the kit necessairy to have the gold plating entierly sealed with a very hard and protective treatment ( they use that treatment on big piece made of gold and he warranty the work for 5 years, so i guess, it must be very good), i will be more able to explain the procedure after i see it done... JP.

Meh, to each their own. Have fun, just remember, when it has trouble cycling its because you're not using full house loads... even then you might have reliability issues. Last I heard the only round truly reliable in the DE is the .50AE.

I'll stick to what I used in service 'cause I know that stuff works. :)

As far reliability the first one had some issues but the late production ones has been flawless, i did my homeworks before buying, not worry a sec, all reviews are positive and accuracy and reliability are up there and doing business with a guy like Clay @ Prophet, it give you the assurance and the peace of mind because if something go wrong, you know they will take care of it to your satisfaction, the look of it is a personal choice that maybe many would not like but i do.... nice. Get what you want and have fun.

I'm told the DE 44 functions just fine with american eagle 240gr jsp or jhp which is the most commonly available 44mag ammo.

You can also order a 50 barrel at some point if you want something different, though special finishes take a while. I bought the gun in 50 and am just waiting for my 44 barrel to come in.

Now that is nice to ear, got a deal for 2K of this AE ammo 240 gr in JHP for 1100.00 just before the Hollydays... JP.
