Sorry, I am so happy I just had to share it. Canadaammo delivered quickly enough but I ordered two tone model. They sent me all blue (I am not the only one who ordered two tone but received all blue). However, I like it enough, I will keep her instead of the two tone. All black makes it look more....serious, less toy like.
It seems solid, finish is quite nice (some sharp edges but not to cut through skin), no rattles, slides smoothly and pings nicely. All I need now is ATT and she's ready to spew some lead.

Nice looking chunk! Looks like they have way better sights than what is on my NP-28. How is the trigger pull? Those guns are built like tanks I don't think you will have any complaints unless you want practice on how to clear jams as they don't.

Trigger isn't heavy at all. DOn't know what it is as I have no measuring devices. But it is lighter than my hunting rifles, that is for sure.

I'm glad to hear that the trigger pull is better. Mine is so stiff it makes DAO's seem like a target shooters. If you want to replace that mag release or get some wood grips try Numrich they ship here. Enjoy it.

Not to rain on your parade or anything, I just got my first pistol too (Beretta 92F). But I wanted to hear how people like their Norinco's 1911? I like the black on black, and wanted a 1911 for myself. I think your Norinco is a nice peice, Congrats! Anyone like the reliablity of the Norinco's?

I've owned quite a few Beretta 92's over the years. Not a bad handgun but I find the BHP MkIII fits me best. So, after owning many different 9mm's that's what I have gone to for a double stack.

I have also been into 1911's for ~ 30 years and have owned all manner of them as well. Personally, I like the Norc 1911's. The ones I have owned & own are decent performers for the money. I don't think you can go wrong with the all blued latest version from Can-Am. That was the last Norc that I purchased.

'Course, on mine I've ditched the black rubber grips for double diamond hardwoods. The extended slide stop has been replaced with a standard one. The big mag release button is gone as well in favour of a stock one. Also contemplating switching out the stock trigger for an aluminum adjustable like I have on my Norc 1911 compact [commander].

Here's a pic before I switched out the mag release button. Norc compact is the lower:

Thanks for the info NAA. And Abalas, sorry for asking questions on your thread, I should have started another one instead. I Like the pistol, will probably order one myself. Enjoy!

FWIW, I recently got one and had it out to the range last weekend. I used Mec-Gar 8 round magazines (turfed the ones that came with the gun) and the pistol never failed to feed or jammed but I found the trigger a little 'heavy' as I was initially shooting low and left but once I figured out what was going on I was able to centre my groups on the target. I did find the sights smallish as my other 1911's have Bomar style sights. I think I'll be keeping the stock sights on the Norc but I'll be painting the front sight dot white--the current brownish-orange is hard for my old eyes to pick up quickly. The mag release, the "Oreo" button screws out so you can have a 'standard looking' mag release button, albeit, it'll look like a donut. I have a standard mag release, slide stop and rosewood grips incoming for mine. Surpisingly, I'm very impressed with the Norc....

Every time I bought something at a Dollarama, it broke down within hours. The tools there are so bad quality, handmade using a file so the fit of parts is terrible. I feared something similar for the Norinco (given the price, my fear was a bit justified). But when I opened the box, I was very pleasantly surprised. Slide fits very tight, there is no lateral movement whatsover, you shake it and it doesn't rattle (like some American cars after 2 weeks of driving), again, few sharp edges but not to the point of being painful. Slide slides smoothly and it really is a decent gun. I hope it shoots as well as it looks. Of course, the standard parts shall be replaced: grips, Oreo mag release, extended slide release and perhaps the sights but again, they look pretty decent. Someone once mentioned smudges instead of nice white dots but this one has nice and clean dots so I might keep this for a while. I am not really into mods, unless they increase performance. Good looks never really concerned me (a wife / girlfriend is a different matter).

Yeah, I was checking your thread the other day. Very nice gun that 92F you got yourself but I would not put those skull themed grips on her. Just my opinion.....

Are you getting a refund for the wrong gun as i assume the two tone may have been more expensive? Gueess their shipping department got the guns mixed up, or they figured they would send what they had instrad, bad bussness pratices i hear.

NAA, this is the look I will ultimately go for. They look sharp! Congrats! Difficult to distinguish them from higher end 1911s. Nice job.

The price is identical on both, blue and two tone. After contemplating this, I sent them a note but I decided to keep the blue. I think it does look better than the two tone model.

I have the norc 1911 a1, i like it, did some internal modes like a extended ejector, drops the casings closer, don't have to look for them. heavier spring, 16 to a 18 lb, full lenght spring retiurn rod. low month saftey, and got some old wooden grips and sanded them down so my hand would fit better. norc mags well i replaced them all with chip mccromice ones, lips would bend out and bae place broke off, lol, otrher than than my norc has always worked well, except for the occasional jam, but you get that with any gun, most of the jams went away after i replaced the mags
