My first handgun - Norc 1911A1 Blue

Heard the news. My condolences on the Norc. ;)

LOL... Good for you forgetting your first handgun!

The screw up wasn't sending you all blue. It was not sending you a Glock in 9mm.

LOL, you're funny.
It seems there are 3 groups of handgun lovers: Norc lovers (regardless of model), 1911 lovers and Glock lovers. Each group swears by what they love and are willing to die an honorable death just defend their convinction.
I have to aplogise to all Glock lover, I just don't understand what the fuss is about. Those are ugly guns. Period. Perhaps reliable, perhaps durable and if I were a cop, I would definitely opt for one. Yea yea, you are going to accuse me of some mental defect for choosing Norc, but I want to tinker and shoot the heck out of it and once I know everything there is to know about 1911, I shall purchase a Kimber Raptor. I had a chance to shoot it recently and I never handled anything more pleasant to touch....that shoots.....lead......

nice looking gun. tactical stuff usually doesnt do it for me but that seems like a good value with all that add on's came stock from Norc. me like

Sorry, my last message wasn't clear. My police model did not come with a standard slide stop nor standard mag release button. I changed the slide stop and the mag release myself (actually my brother did it) and it only took a few seconds.

The parts I used are the cheap one's from Marstar. The standard slide stop allows the slide to lock open after the last shot in the magazine unlike the extended one and the standard mag release prevents accidental release when reholstering. Other than that and new Pachmayr grips, it is stock. I keep it cleaned and lube and it rarely if ever jams or fails to fire. It is also more accurate than I am. With these small changes it is IPSC legal and a pleasure to own and shoot. Get one. Actually get two.

LMAO

At least you know what you are looking for. Good for you!

my first handgun- norc 1911a1 blue

My friend brought his norc enhanced model commander 1911 for me to see,i couldn't believe how nice it was finished compared to the old model. We shot 150 rounds with it,no problems,it was accurate and the trigger was good.It is a bargain for $400.00 dallors.I ordered one and hope it is as nice as his.We shot it side by side with my s&w mp 40 the norc shot just as good if not better than the smith.I just got my Dan Wesson cbob 10mm today and it is an awesome looking gun but is $1200.00 more than the norc commander.I can see why so many guy's like the new norinco 1911's.

Yep, budget is my chief concern. You can still have lots of fun for a lot less. I am willing to spend more if enhanced performance is evident but in case of Norc 1911, I sacrifice little for similar performance as higher end units, and don't spend as much at the same time. Oh well, cant fault a thrifty guy....
