My first IPSC match

Janeau, while I'd agree normally this "issue" came right out of the blue over the last month. And OF COURSE it did it far more in the match then it did in testing where I only had one stovepipe out of 150 rounds during testing but 3 or 4 bad jams during the match.

BCRider I shoot a Shadow at club matches as well. And i tested everything before the matches; ammo, lube types, my different hand loads etc. The gun was perfect at all times.
Then come the matches and i just get floored when the stovepiping happens. I got two really good pointers from the resident pros:
1. during the match i get all excited/flustered and my stance changes and I get "limp wristed" which doesn't give the gun the "anvil" it needs to blow back and cycle a round correctly. Noticing this made a BIG difference
2. A very helpful CZ fan dis- assembled my gun for me in the safe area and pointed out a spot to lube that never would have occurred to me: right on top of the barrel. It touches the slide as it toggles to receive a round and can bind there. Only two tiny drops of CLP and spread around
these 2 tips have eliminated the stove pipes in the succeeding matches

sure hope this helps and have fun!

It's always nice to hear about some hints. The barrel oiling I'm already onto since I tend to wipe a couple of drops all over the outer barrel so the slide engagement lugs can have something to smoothen the interface.

The loose grip I'm not sure about. In the excitement I have have not given it the same grip. I'll have to try this out in some test shooting. Still, it's odd that I only had issues with the 124grn ammo which, by the way, was all of one brand so perhaps there's some issue on that as well.
