My first IWI TAVOR, here is my let's see yours

The only products Norinco makes that are worth considering are their 1911's and the M305 (both of which need work to be good firearms). The T97 with it's gasport and a half and zero QC should cost $500 not $900. Anyone who blows another $400 on the FTU just to make it functional is crazy, now you're getting into the cost of a real rifle and you still have no warranty and no parts support for that pos.

If the only criteria you judge a rifle on is price then the T97 is mediocre at best. Just because it's cheaper than a Tavor and is also a bullpup doesn't mean it's a good deal. There is a lot more to a good rifle than simply that it functions most of the time.
It's like buying an M-forgery, it's better than not having a rifle but not by much and at least the M-forgery is cheap.

If you want to buy a T-97 or M-forgery then that's fine, you're the only one that has to be happy with it but please stop trying to compare them to a quality firearm like a Tavor or a US built AR. You just make yourself sound ignorant and foolish. I know a few of the guys that do are just looking for a reaction but it's getting old.

That would be like racing an old muscle car vs a McLaren P1 around the Nurburgring. Not a chance for the T97 :p

How dare you compare a T97 to an old muscle car! More like an old Gremlin or Chevette or a dodge omni. Lol

The cost of a new trigger is half of what i paid for my t97

I know, Dilligaf just like to show off along with most people on this site.

Look at me, look what I have... Blah Blah Blah, we get it your cool. I rather have money in my pocket then broke with a bunch of useless guns that look cool and do the exact same thing as my Norinco's

If that was the case everyone would drive a kia rio.
if you don't have money then get a sks, ammo+gun $399, why get Norinco's

i guess the point is, if you got the CASH, why not.

Very solid points. I think I'll be looking for a Tavor.

Exactly. And I dont here of anyone claiming thier kia rio can do the same as good as a lambo.

If your criteria for it is: does the same is it rolls under its own power(or put lead down range), yes indeed they are the same.

But to try to sell an economical solution as being as good is performance solution with any further detailed criteria is ludicrous.

This was a good thread of pics. Now just another thread of people arguing for the last two pages. So sad.

For the sake of keeping this thread on track. Here's a ####ty pic of my Tavor with a freshly installed Manticore handguard and MVG grip.

I wasn't too sure about the MVG grip but I actually really like the feeling of it.

Another here that's happy with the stock trigger. It's heavy, but still useable. I have thought about upgrading, but I have a hard time justifying the cost vs gain. I'm pretty dam fast with it the way it is, I can hit what I aim at, and I've never gotton a tired trigger finger.
I have no doubt it'd be a nicer rifle to shoot, just not sure it'll make me a better shooter.

I could be wrong though. I'd like to try one just to see. Maybe it is something I need.

SKS shoots 5 rounds semi auto, same thing. The SKS is actually better, sks comes with the optional trip to vegas with hookers and booze with all the money you save on buying the sks. kidding I can't afford a tavor, that's why I shoot corrosive ammo. :-(

I do have one question. Whats with the big handguard instead of a trigger guard? Anybody ever bump the trigger by accident?
