My First Load

Well I finally made it out to the range to test my first load. I have to say I'm pretty happy with the results considering I'm a newbie at this. I decided to try 140 grain Sierra Gamekings in my 6.5x55 Steyr Prohunter using IMR4350. I started off slow at 38.5 grains working up in .5 grain increments to 42.5. It wasn't until I got to 41 grains did I start to see decent results.

That looks very promising. You also might want to try H4831SC or Reloder 22.

In my match loads with a 140-grain Hornady AMAX, I normally use 47.5 grains of H4831SC.

I second Re22, excellent powder for 6.5x55, however use whatever works for You.
Good grouping, next time try 5x.

I've heard a lot of good things with Re22. What do you recommend for min and max loads? By the way, I don't have a chrony.....yet!
